It is what it is. Personally, I'll take Yemi over the incoming JUCO player that's replacing him. However, that's the way college scholarships works. All of the parties knew this going in.

Ok, I was expecting MORE from Yemi. His lack of focus/experience almost nullifies his height, size, and athleticism. I'm not saying Ndiaye is going to be an upgrade, but I am saying that some people's perception of Yemi being a solid role player is extremely generous.

My point is that none of us really know anything about the new guy, so let's see what he does on the court. If Ndiaye can get those same looks that Yemi got (seems reasonable), but makes those 2-foot layups, or slams with both hands, he WILL be an upgrade.

Answers the question why Yemi rumors started two weeks before Stokes even made his decision. Yemi was gone regardless of Stokes' decision.

And Stokes' decision is certainly not influenced by the Martin-Yemi dust-up. Stokes is not leaning either way based solely on Yemi leaving.

Stokes is evaluating selection probability, $$$-level, and his Plan B/C if not drafted, i.e., can it work, will he be happy, etc. JMO

This is how I feel, too.

I think he needs to be honest with Quentin Chievous as well if that's the case

Underrated post IMO. Add in Edwards. Add in a guy that hasn't even arrived yet in Landry. Possibly add in Reece if he doesn't learn how to play D and rebound.

Folks need to be cautious of overrating Coach Zo at this point. Could be a Dools Syndrome sighting if things don't get better soon. Three years in without a real, top rated PG. Thompson does not qualify. He is a combo guard that will play the point like Trae was made into. Now he gets a juco of no better ability that will have to learn the system that Yemi had two years in. Not buying into this yet.

Q was actually productive for the team in the last few weeks. As for REESE. We didn't get to see him at his full potential. Being injuried at the start of the season losing 15 lbs iirc. I think we need to wait and see. I don't know about Landry I hope he's better than his stats but only time can tell.

Agreed. Chievous was making an impact in his very few minutes off the bench. People got excited when they saw Reese hit a coulple 3s, but I always thought he would struggle to contribute. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Edwards or Reese have any business on this team.

With Landry you can't go by his point avg. He played with the #1 player in the country. I'm sure he will have better handles and passing ability than Golden

From what I seen on TV his basically a great on ball defender. But he won't have better handles or passing ability than Golden his first year anyways. I don't think Landry will be a complete bust though.

I fully agree. Edwards has the SEC body type and it stops there. Reese is just like AJ Davis but AJ is more polished and better upside.

I actually liked Edwards game. He needed work on his D and he needed minutes to work on finding his rhythm. When things slowed down for him, he could score well. All JUCO's typically struggle adjusting to this level and he was no different. He has the potential to be much better.

Hard to really judge Reese, but he showed glimpses of being a contributor and not a waste of a scholarship. Not only is Davis more polished, he is 100 times more athletic than Reese. I expect big things from him, but I'm willing to give him time to grow.

If Yemi played every minute that Kenny hall played, the team would have been more energized, wouldve won more games and would've made the tourney. A team looking for energy sits the guy that brings the most.
CM's decision to not play stokes together with yemi much when the 4 guard lineup hit a rut is another mark against his coaching, imo.

Martin is such a F-in douche!!! Yemi was going to be a good player for us. He improved every game he played in and did his job. This was a dumb move by Martin and he can go "F" himself. He might as well transfer too, because he won't be here to much longer

Seriously? What if Yemi told Martin during the year that he wanted a change. I thought Yemi had great potential to be a good role player as a defender and rebounder. But offense was still way behind. I don't see this as a big deal.

Basketball recruiting is not like football recruiting. People laughed at Dooley for saying year 1 was year 0, but that is truly correct in basketball when you are hired in April and have to fill a roster.

That said, Martin missed last year on a PG when he took Moore instead of a true PG. It is understandable the first time, but I was disappointed that he didn't fix the PG situation last year.

I am fine with this recent situation. PF or C is not like the PG position. It is not like Yemi was progressing at a rate that would have made him very good this year. As long as the new guy can play defense, he will be on par with Yemi. If he has any offensive game, then he is already better. Not a loss IMO.

I knew yemi was dead in the water when Martin made the comment about Ndiaye that he would make those 2 foot layups...it seemed almost like a shot at yemi lol

for all of you that are old enough to remember yemi is the same type player as john Snodgrass but different color skin .Neither should have ever wore a Tennessee jersey unless they bought one at some store .neither one was able to walk and dribble at same time and they were not any good. and if the ball was threw to him he would get called for walking at least 7 out of 10 times. yea yemi was a likeable guy just not a ball player. i just hope the guy replacing him is better than he was ,which woul not take much to be better but I have saw worse. good luck to yemi where ever he goes.
