I will agree that Chip Kelly was the great equalizer for the Oregon Ducks. The guy can flat out coach. But, if Oregon was to play in the SEC, it'd still be a successful program and win it's fair share of games.

That game was two years ago. Two things are major differences this yea, we don't have Dooley and they don't have Chip as the head coach. They have an unproven head coach who was a successful oc and we have a proven head coach. I'm not saying we win but.I doubt it will be the blowout it was two years ago.

Sorry the speed they have will be the difference. Our defense does not have the speed it needs yet.

They have way more speed and talent at the skill positions. That's where they get high ranked players. Front seven and line they get a bunch of 3 stars that fit the system. That's why our rankings are similar. But their skill players are more highly ranked fast players.

Not sure how many points we averaged last year , think it was 36 or so, which is close to Oregons average. Not saying we win, but like Loyd Christmas , I think there's a chance. Those points by the ducks were against pac 12 defenses, and ours were... well you know.

I also like Butch's positive outlook and determination. But I hope he doesn't burn himself out and turn into a hollow shell with a sales pitch exterior by living on stimulants in order to go without sleep. The man in unrelenting, but he is also human.

I'm pretty sure Bonner was dismissed from the team. He's not currently listed on the roster.

Oregon by 30+.


Mariota and Barner are the best back field tandem that team has had and they actually do play defense.

25th in scoring defense, 40th in total defense in an offense happy conference.

The Vols look like they are running in cement compared to the team speed that they have at Oregon.

We were an sec team, they were big east....big east doesn't have the talent to the sec. Those are the facts. Bray, hunter, da Rick had a big game that day too.

We will control the offensive line of scrimmage and keep that speed off of the field. THAT is how you combat the speed from the backfield of Oregon, they can run up and down the sidelines by the bench waiting to get the ball back all they want. If UT establishes a running game then their team speed is a moot point.

I think the Oregon - Tennessee game is going to be much closer , Than the grudites , would have you believe .
