Some of you are undervaluing the importance of good QB play on a football team. The NFL has no problem pulling a QB that underperforms. The loyalty to Joe is disheartening.
Open your damn eyes. QB position is not the only issue. Offensive scheme/playcalling has been rancid all year. Defensive play calling has been so damn inconsistent you cant rely on it. This team is a 7-5 football team. And guess what! Next year. WE WILL GO 7-5 WITH NICO AT THE HELM. So buckle up buttercup

I don't know if our WRs are top half of the conference, especially after Brus injury. Tight Ends are nothing special. Running backs are good. Offensive line Run Blocks better than they pass block, but they have been dominated 3 games this year.

I thought Joe was more than good enough to win Saturday. He was actually the only bright spot on offense. 3ypc wins 0 games, especially when you have multiple OL penalties on every drive.

Never said it was, just saying that some are underestimating it's impact on other positions and units on the team. You don't think that poor QB capabilities limits what you can call on offense?

And a tons of you all think he will go pro? Thats the most ridiculous thing I have read on here in multiple threads. Even my 15 year old daughter asked why does he throw it so hard and so high???? Ga will be I. His head so fast so I hope we get though that respectfully and then enjoy a Vandy victory.
NFL front offices value physical tools in QBs very highly. Anthony Richardson went top 10 on that alone. Milton won’t do that because of his age, but someone will take a mid or late round flyer on him.

He’s not spectacular, but then again the receivers aren’t either. That’s a bad combination.

Completely agree on all fronts. IMO, Offensive line needs drastic upgrades in size and toughness to be successful.

Ok, man. Go work your tail off on defense, then have your offense go out there and run for 2 yards, then throw 2 consecutive inaccurate incompletions in 30 seconds, and tell me that isn't demoralizing and affect your play. There is a reason they say the QB is the most important position on the field.
“Work your tail off on defense”??
This defense is garbage and was garbage last year when we had a stud quarterback who was putting points up on quick drives. As I said, Milton is part of the problem, no doubt. If you think he is THE problem, then I can’t change your mind.

You always work harder on defense, it's reactionary. Just because they aren't very good, doesn't mean they aren't working their tails off.

Also, I never said he was the only problem. Just that some on here underestimate the impact a QB has on the whole team.

Our defense was the biggest problem

Mizzou had possession double what we did because our defense couldn't get off the field then when our offense had the ball we struggled and couldn't move the chains (bad plays, play calling, and penalties killed us)

Joe didn't help alot, but he wasn't the biggest problem IMO Saturday... not even close
We lost this game in the first quarter when the defense got us an interception returned to the Missouri side of the field and we went three and out. The defense knew they weren’t getting any help that day. They then proceeded to let Missouri burn the entire remainder of the quarter on a single drive

The throw was low to the ground. How is underthrowing the reciever a great throw?

It was a bad throw that our reciever laid down to catch and got hurt for it.
It was thrown where only Thorton could get it. Think what you want.

Milton @6’5, 240 lbs is afraid to get hit that’s why he is hesitant. He still doesn’t understand the offense and I’m not sure that he is capable of understanding it. Same reason he didn’t make it at Michigan. And finally his teammates have zero confidence in him ! But in the end Heuple is to blame for sending him on the field week after week because he is definitely not an asset but a liability
Well said

It’s not about defending him, it’s about pushing back on the narrative that he’s THE problem, when there are many problems, many on the other side of the ball. He’s not the guy, but no quarterback is going to when that game Saturday with the defense not getting off the field.
Isn't it the offense job to keep the defense off the field? Mizzou sure did a good job of it.

Yeah, the offense sure sucked at stopping Mizzou on third down. Also, this offense goes fast, so even if they had successful drives, they wouldn’t be that time consuming. If the defense made tackles and stops, offense would have had more possessions. Did the #1 offense we had last year keep the defense from giving up an insane amount of points?
