I think he'll keep her, at least through the convention. Dropping her now would be an even bigger fiasco than the pick itself.
Betting on a Palin withdrawal - Sep. 2, 2008
Admittedly, if I vote for McCain it will be more a vote against Obama than anything else.
Then again, if I vote for Obama, it will be more a vote against McCain than confidence in Obama.
Like I said, choice between lesser of two evils and I'm not convinced either way at this point.
(I am sure the majority of my political posts here would be perceived as anti-Republican, but I ask that you realize two things. First, I rarely post something "pro"-Obama. I'm not advocating him, really. Second, most of my criticism of the Republican machine is of people who I consider to be ideologically and definitiely intellectually bankrupt, like Hannity. That has much less to do with their politics than their infuriating illogic, which seems to me to exponentially increase every day. If I vote for Obama, it will be as much to tell Hannity and his ilk to screw off than anything else.)
No one's ever even heard of Palin. I don't care if she's a popular Governor. More people live in Knoxville Metro than live in the entire state of Alaska. He needs to drop her and pick Ridge or Romney. Hell, I'd even take Lieberman at this point. Sure, he'll look stupid for backtracking, but at least he'll be admitting his mistake. I think he's going to lose either way at this point.
The controversy surrounding her is robbing McCain of the spotlight during this convention. This is supposed to be a chance to show confidence and to celebrate the presidential nominee, not a week of people laughing at you because, while whining about Obama's lack of foreign policy experience, you are also having to explain away the fact that your choice for VP got her first passport a year ago.
Regardless of whether you think she was a good choice or not, you have to amdit that the pick has put him on the defensive exactly at the moment where he ought to be introducing himself as the man with the sure and steady hand.
Not exactly working out that way.
Exactly. If this was such a poor choice we wouldn't have heard a peep out of the media or the dems. They have been trumped.Actually LG you could not be more wrong. This attack on Palin is back firing just like I thought it would. The more they attack this woman about her personal life the more it hurts Dems. It makes them look like the bullies they are.
Also on the VP debates. I don't know if Joe "I'll have another Martini" Biden can help himself. He is what he is. A man with a terrible temper and if he loses it with her it will cost him. Also if he attempts to be something he is not it will come across badly. So right now I think the Dems (or at least those in the know) are worried about the VP debate.

Why wouldn't he be?????
If she was non-existent, then why all the media coverage.
This would be a blessing to the democrats by having McCain effectively destroying his campaign.
The only reason she is being attacked is she is a threat to Obama.
Of course Dems attack her (they were going to attack no matter who the pick was). 3.) My point is that she is also being attacked by the establishment press. I know, i know, the liberal media. blah, blah.. doesn't matter. McCain never would have had this type of uproar from the press had 1.) Palin been properly vetted or had he chosen someone that wasn't a complete surprise to them. 2.) His campaign is a disaster and he deserves to lose at this point.

That is not true at all. The reason (and not only reason) she is being attacked is because of the reason she was picked in the first place. Had Obama chosen Hillary as his running mate, McCain would probably have chosen a african-american woman.
Sure........................
Why would you leak her social security number to the public if she is not a threat to Obama?????????
If she is so horrible, why go to that extreme to destroy her?
She is a threat!
She is a threat if McCain wins and she somehow ends up being our President. That is what is scary.
Why is it scary?
Where you scared with Clinton.... oh no a governor...
Where you scared with Reagan.... oh no a governor...
The list is endless...... you are as good as the people you surround yourself with.
That is McCain's decision on who is in his cabinet?
