How will it be the loser of the election when you were convinced prior to the choice that he was losing anyway?

I think it is the final nail in the coffin. I thought that his chances hinged on making the right VP choice. Palin wasn't it.

I'm completely opposite. I think she fits his maverick mold, fits a couple of demographics where he sucks, and has generated a near Obama like buzz.

Well, I don't think all these conservatives that are buzzing are actually going to get out to vote just for the VP, especially when Biden creams her in a debate (that last part would actually require people to pay attention to the VP debate though, so we'll see).

Another thing is, she is energizing that Republican base (at least at the moment) but at the same time she seems to be having a comparable effect on the democratic base. That speech she gave angered a lot of Obama supporters, I have already seen it on the web, and on campus. Now not only do his supporters dislike McCain, they hate his VP.

I really doubt any republican thought that they would pull any Obama supporters no matter whom McCain picked.

More than anything, it's just a feeling. Now I think he has to back off the inexperience thing a bit, and she really doesn't help him anywhere except states he should have win anyways.

Really?????

No play in Michigan or Colorado?

Colorado is damn near out the window for McCain, the whole water thing has almost sealed it IMO. (I have a friend who is near Colorado Springs that says that folks are still hopping mad) She may be good for a point or two in Michigan, but Obama is outside of the margin for error there so it won't win it. Romney could have made that state competitive.

Biden will not be creaming anyone. He comes off as an oafish, smug prick and he's never been able to temper that. She is every bit as bright as he is and comports herself dramatically better.

I'll assure you that nothing can motivate the dems like the combo of Obama's worthlessness and the excitement about Palin.

Finally, you're not taking into account the fact that our bigoted country still has to walk in the box and pull the lever for a black man. Sadly, that little 800 lb gorilla is the biggest unknown in the race, yet nobody wants to talk about it.

So shouldn't you be happy that Palin was chosen?

Do you think it possible that a significant number of Hillary supporters want McCain to win so that she can run again in 2012?

2016 is a long time to wait and I do not think she has that much patience.

I love conspiracy!

The Clinton political machine is actually helping McCain!

I love it!

Why?

Hill has to beat McCain because Palin will be to much to handle!

she'll be awfully telegenic 8 years from now. At that point HD will be like 9,458,732i and she'll be damn rough with that kind of clarity.

I almost hurled thinking about it.

Did you not see Wolfosn (from the HC camp) last night bragging on Palin to the point that Chris Wallace had to say (paraphrase)"We have you on here to be contrary to her not to brag on her" and only then did Wolfonson say he liked her and she did great but he just disagreed with her points. It is clear that Billy Jeff and Hill are not going to help NObama and in fact will hurt him when they get a chance.
