FOXNews.com - Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edwards as a '******' - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter after she referred to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards as a ‘******’ during a speech Friday at a national conservative gathering.
Coulter, who was addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., said:

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word '******,' so I - so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards."

Members of the audience seemed startled, then many clapped, and she proceeded to open the floor to questions, reported EditorandPublisher.com

Complete and utter ignorance.. It sure fits my Republican view to the brim.. Brings back memories of what Bush said when he forgot his mic was on during the 2000 campaign.

It's obvious satire. It's tasteless, but it's satire.

Dean can froth at the mouth all he wants, he's not exactly pure and innocent.

Why is satire from the left considered "smart comedy" when the same approach used from the right is considered racist, homophobic, sexist, etc.?

freedom of speech. thats not as bad as when harry belafonte called condi rice and colin powell house slaves. i dont remember any dem out there condeming him for saying what he did. and when the mayor of new orleans said he want he did there was no outrage from the left. there is only a problem if a repub says something bad. edwards needs to clean his own house with the two women who said what the did about Christians before he starts crying about name calling. if being called ****** is the worse thing he ever gets called than he's lucky......

It's not really even a comment on John Edwards as much as it is a comment about the state of our society where saying something insensitive or offensive lands you in rehab in order to save face.

I understand that and I'd agree if someone other than Ann Coulter said it.

I cannot fully express my opinion of Ann Coulter without violating board rules.

Here is a hint: It rhymes with "worthless punt"

Edit: Of course, the answer is "worthless stunt" :)

Probably not my best choice of words at 3am :eek:k: but I still stand by them! Smart comedy is just that, smart its not name calling.

this is a classic "shoe is on the other foot" situation. A democrat pundit can call Bush and Cheney "hitler", "nazi", or "babykiller" and the left will stand up and cheer them on. When people like Dean or Clinton are asked to repudiate that particular pundit, they invariably hide behind the "free speech" banner.

so, get over it.

Must be upsetting that Coulter is the most popular and most clever columnist out there today.

kind of hard for you to take the moral high ground, isn't it? at least it should be with luminaries like Bill Maher expressing their sorrow that the attempt on Cheney failed.

He never did that, he simply brought up the fact that Huffington Post took down all of the comments from people stating that and they discussed it some. Maher never said that it was a shame the attempt on his life failed. Nice try though..

make up your own mind
if you can't get over the fact that this is a conservative leaning website, then click on the links for the video...

Maher backpedaled when pressed on the issue...he didn't say that he was sorry outright, but he does claim that more people would be alive today if Cheney had been killed.

"Page Not Found"

I watched the show last night, I know what he said and it doesn't matter how you all want to twist it, that's not what he said..

I'll copy and paste the transcript as soon as it comes out..
