As an alumni, if I had a son who was an SEC caliber football player, I'd recommend he go elsewhere to be honest.

Jones will not last 4 years and there are going to be more boos than cheers in Neyland over that time.

I recognize that recruits are on here, but they'll see right past the window dressing and see a fanbase that is pissed off.

You realize this board is for fans as a way to engage "somewhat like minded" fans. It's not for recruits. They may read it but the board is for us. I don't slam players or post a lot but stop saying that premise about who reads what. It doesn't stop the idiots from posting.

See it's crap like this I'm referring to. I'm not saying you can't be disappointed or question the hire. But to say "UT is toast" or "No one's going to buy tickets to support this guy" is just ridiculous. Does anyone even remember Bowdan Wyatt? Yeah, he killed UT after Neyland, the program died and has won 0 games since his hire...

Yes, recruiting is more complicated than a message board. But it's the greater impact. Guys who were recruited by Dooley are going to get calls from other schools, lets not make it easier for them to choose the other school.

While we may play a very small part in the recruiting process it's just that a very small part. A kid that loves the facilities and coaches isn't going to bail on UT because of that one thing that one guy wrote on that one message board.

I know that a lot of you have your own opinion about the coaches and the players but, when making comments on this site you need to take into consideration the fact that players and recruits do read this stuff. You may or may not think your opinion matters but consider this. When you constantly talk bad about the current players and critique their every mistake you are telling the recruits that this is what to expect at UT. A fan base that will be all over you from day one if you don't meet their every expectation. I personally, would go somewhere else if this is what I thought was going to happen to me if I went to school here. How about we try talking about how disappointed we are in losing a game but not putting all the blame on one person or a couple of people each and every play that goes wrong. If you do not think your comments make a difference just look at how difficult the fan base made our coaching search this year.

I'm not saying don't make comments. I'm just saying to consider the affect they can have on our teams future.

Maybe so, I am 47 and a life long fan and contributor. I am done my friend. There are no Tennessee people at Tennessee.

This was a once proud place and there is nothing to be proud about any longer. It has nothing to do with wins and losses. This program has been destroyed from within...

Don't bother man. It's the Legion of the Miserable and it's apart of the gene pool ATP. People are to selfish to understand that this kind of stuff has any kind of effect and to stupid/naive to think it goes outside of this little MSG board community. Just read the comments in this thread it's as if the OP suggested their 1st amendment rights be taken away. It's ridiculous.

This same argument was going on months ago with how all the hostile Dooley hate was feeding the Gruden talk. People were to stupid to see it getting bigger and bigger. It doesn't matter they would say. Then it started getting picked up by the nationsl media and former players tweeting it out, etc. By the time November came it had engulfed the program and not surprised we lost in Nov.

For what???? Did we hire Gruden??? NO!!! F'n stupid azzz Grudenites. This is what we get from yalls incompetence. Congratulations!!! Now stop complaining about it and support the coach and team. Yes Butch Jones is now a Vol! Y'all are a bunch of armchair coaches and AD losers that need to grow up and get your heads out of your azzzes!!

Damn, and all this time I thought there were 85 scholarship players, a dozen walk-on's, and a few graduate assistants who were "Tennessee people" at UT. I guess all of those guys are actually going to school and getting degree's from Pellissippi State.

Tell me this, do you know where Nick Saban went to college? I'll give you hint, it wasn't Alabama. And you realize UGA's greatest coach ever Vince Dooley actually went to school and played football at Auburn, right? So when Dooley was the AD at Georgia, you had an Auburn grad as the AD and a Miami grad (Richt) as the football coach. Yup, they did everything they could to destroy Georgie from within...

They read the newspaper and watch TV and have seen UT's AD look like a strung out crack head in addition to seeing the Chancy eat a booger.
