No, taking DH off the team doesnt take away his education. It means the decision he made force him to take another track, just like everyone else. As i asked before, UT didnt accept me because i messed up as a kid and didnt make good grades and i wasnt good at football. Did UT take away may chance at an education? No, i took another route.

His track was to be excellent at something that earned him an opportunity to receive an education. You're advocating taking that away from him as additional punishment. Hood earned a scholarship from UT which gave him an education. UT helped to keep him on track to become successful. It would have been wrong for UT to have done a 180 and kicked him out of school because a mob pushes a petition. That could have initiated his being a burden on society instead of a rehabilitated, productive member of it.

"Would have been". Theoretically getting yourself into quite a huff aren't you? :)

I think that it's bull**** for a couple of posters to drag DH into the controversy at YS and for you to make **** up about me saying something disparaging about that victim.

Hood did make good grades and was very good at football. He earned his opportunity whereas by your own admission, you didn't.

I wish them the best. But these guys have to have a mental illness to be involved in something this bad. They will always be a burden on society because they will never fit in.

Hood seems to be fitting in on WNML radio and the home contracting business in Knoxville.

The nature of this particular crime is heinous, but in general I don't see being a registered sex offender as a sign that a person is guilty of something bad. They can force you to register as a sex offender if you're caught parking with your girlfriend. The sex offender registry was supposed to be a warning that a violent sexual predator was living in the area. Many communities are using it now as a scarlet letter.

What are you talking about? Being a sex offender should be the scarlet letter.

Depends on the specifics of what exactly the offender did. Rape or pedophilia I totally agree. Lots of other things that are categorized as a sex offense not so much.

According to Bleacherreport, “He was convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl while she was unconscious in 2012.”
