Your daily Republican grievance: Black mermaids, etc al.

Thought this could be a cool thread to laugh at all the silly "causes celebres" that get Republicans hot under the collar.

The whole black mermaid thing is just so hilarious when you hear what that story is really about. I'm guessing the Republicans don't want Disney to make THAT movie.

'The Little Mermaid' Was Originally a Metaphor for Unrequited Gay Love

Literally nobody cares. So I guess because some Republicans have gotten upset, that the Republicans on this board would. Lol. You continue to show stupidity.

Just googled it. This article is not about homogenizing all sports or putting all the athletes in the same pool regardless of gender, but about segregating by other factors like physical strength and ability level. Something that’s already the aim of segregating youth sports by age and something that would address the concerns of the “Republikkkans” and their daughters.

I’m not convinced it’s a good idea as a maximal rule across all sports, particularly competitive individual sports, but it is already being done situationally, so it’s not really that outlandish.

Separating Sports by Sex Doesn’t Make Sense
Do demokkkrats not have daughters(if they know what a daughter is) that plays sports?

Nah. There was an uproar online when the casting happened and it was the most disliked Disney trailer ever (in just 2 days).
I haven’t seen any uproar…. Of course I stay away from the part of social media that constantly bickers about things…. I still feel that you are wrong about this….people don’t like two things about this movie…. The ocean scenes are poorly done and the casting…. Casting is one of the most important parts of a movie….. Have you seen all the complaints about the Wheels of time in the recruiting forum…. People hate it bc the characters from the movie are not similar to the characters from the book…. YouTube is also not showing the dislikes to that trailer anymore either.

This is hilarious because yet again liberals are showing what hypocrites they are. The left lost their minds a few years ago because Zoe Saldana played a black woman, to the point she had to apologize. All I've seen about this is people getting mad because some people hit a dislike button, not people going off. That's laughable 🤣

Check your privilege Joe. Only liberals are allowed to be offended or triggered.

A fierce campaign has arisen on social media calling for moviegoers, especially African Americans, to Boycott the movie. Critics of the movie point out that the Dahomey kingdom engaged in systematic enslavement and mass killings of peoples it conquered and accuse the movie of whitewashing these aspects of Dahomey’s history to present the kingdom and its warriors in a more heroic light. In West Africa, as in many places throughout history, captives taken in warfare were among the primary sources of enslaved people, and the Dahomey coast became a major source of slaves for Europeans exporting Africans to the Americas.

Does Dixie youth segregate based on ability?

Of course. All youth sports segregate by physical ability and development in several different ways.

Segregating child participants by age is just a convenient way to roughly correlate to development. Which is why the age groupings get bigger as participants get closer to the level fully developed adults. A 22 year old and a 28 year old are on an equal footing developmentally, but a 22 year old and 8 year old or even an 8 year old and 11 year old generally are not. High school too. Our junior varsity was just for freshmen, but they would pull up more advanced kids from time to time.

It can be done more precisely, which is where you end up with All Stars, Select leagues, little league World Series teams, etc.

My takeaway from the article is that there are probably some more situations where that type of stratification of participants could be applied and achieve better result than segregating by gender.

Sure. Older kids are usually bigger than younger kids.

Is Dixie Youth taking an otherwise homogeneous group and separating them out based on skill level? How do they do the assessment? Just a tryout?

Restating the developmental differences between four year olds and eight year olds as one just being bigger is on the same end of the credibility spectrum as trying to convince people that the performance differences between males and females are not biologically baked in.

I already gave examples of youth sports further segregating kids within an age level by physical ability or skill level: All stars. Select teams. Yes, that happens, all the time.

What about this?

Can’t imagine why all these Republikkkans are so mad about their daughters getting F’ing dominated in athletics. Biology isn’t real folks. Gender is fluid. Men can menstruate! So why are you backwood rednecks so mad about this?

Anyone got any BLUE font I can borrow?

I'd like to see a hot 5'5" girl linebacker line up against a 6'0 running back.

It’s really hard to do in baseball leagues nowadays…. Not as many kids are playing little league so there are a limited amount of teams…Last year…. I coached a 10U baseball team…. My son and two other kids played travel ball and could throw it really hard..I had to put other kids on the infield that would turn their glove upside down….. I was afraid the whole season that they were going to get hurt.

This is another war on women.

I did notice a few years back many of these social justice warriors that did like sports never cared a thing about women's sports. So I'm not surprised they would push this.

I understand your point.

And I can see where a transgender female could slot in with cisgender females on a youth soccer field based on ability.

But I have a difficult time seeing why a transgender female should be in the pool with cisgender females.

Should Dustin Hoffman give back his Oscar for playing Rain Man?

Doesn't recruiting also segregate?

What is a cisgender? Isn't that a normal woman? The stupidity that we're dealing with continues to exponentially increase
