His record after the "we built our program in God's name, image, and likeness" speech is abysmal. Clemson isn't playing the NIL game and we're seeing the results of that.
Seems like there's been a trend for a few years. Tennessee goes up, Clemson goes down... I was at the peach bowl when they beat us and we started downhill. The orange bowl was that game now. They'll head down. Glad to see Dabo fall.
He caught lightning in a bottle when the ACC didn’t have other teams to challenge them, and then they backed into the playoffs with a healthy roster and some recruiting classes that were “strangely” better than what they usually had.
He played the “Roy bus” and other stuff to earn the favor of the media, when it was his coordinators, Venables in particular, who were the most valuable parts of those teams.
Now you have an empire of overpaid people in the athletic department and a bunch of fair-weather fans who are turning on him in a big way here. Florida State is back up and UNC and Dook (who would have thought?) are gaining momentum. They now sit at 4-4 and just got beaten by NC State, and might have a hard time getting to 6 wins.
I’m sure Dabo is a Christian and that’s more important than anything, but the Newspring connection isn’t what it used to be and it seems like the gum has lost its flavor.
To add insult to injury, football and softball are all Clemson people have to look forward to. They’re pretty sour around here these days
