huh? i only have spoken up when people claim moral superiority and then post pictures of their $10 million Louis XVI-esque church as proof. i've never said all churches were bad or wasteful.

you can also be a good person and not attend church at all.

Can a church still be good if they have a "well funded" building?

Not all churches are like that. The one I pastor was originally built about 165 years ago. It would hold approximately 125 people. We have put on vinal siding, a metal roof, are in the process of replacing 3 air and heating units that are about 25 years old. We just got through helping a family that lost everything they own after a house fire. People come in wanting help and we help them. These people that come in wanting something like food, but only want the cash to buy it, we buy them food or give it to them from what the members bring to put in our pantry. We do not hand them cash, because we know what it will end up being used for. We pay peoples power bills sometimes when they are having a hard time. We buy schools supplies for kids whose parents can't afford to but it for them.

I wish at times that my church was bigger so we could do more, but its not and will do the best we can because thats what God gave us. We deal with peoples problems and try to help them find the best answer that they can. We try to point them in a direction that will help them. Man's answers aren't always the best, there is another one.

Mark 10:15
One reason I have a problem with most mega churches and with any wealthy pastor.

As far as the school goes TIME is the missing variable.

Oh they teach it there. Just obviously in a manner that proves failure. Other states can use CA as a model of failed economics...what not to do.

Wow, you are taking that passage WAAAAY out of context on this subject. It is talking about faith of a child, not bank account of a child.

Is that what he meant?

He had me stumped on that one, didn't know where that was going.

they do, but only the Keynesian model, which has proven to fail every time it's tried

Depending on centralized planning is a pipe dream, because no centralized body can be anything but fallible to the intricacies of specific economic components.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you mean Mark 10:25 here.

Granted, said verse is still being taken out of context, which sadly is often the case.

Many times Bible verses are very detrimental to the Bible because people think each verse is to be taken as a completely independent though and do not read about it.

and then i'm also to assume god believes that churches are a good thing too?

Thats what the whole discussion has been about. I have clearly stated that not all churches run in accordance with the Bible, and some don't even try.

But Im sure God can find churches that are.
