Rattler has played against much tougher competition this season so far and he is posting 74.2% cmp% with 7TD to 2 interceptions while averaging 310 yards/game. Our secondary allowed Florida's Mertz to move the ball at will. I hope I am wrong but I do not think our secondary can handle SC's passing game.Uh, Rattler won't have a career day. Did you not watch last year's game? That was a career day.
This isn't a very tough/physical team. They also seem disinterested at times which tells me a lot about our on the field leadership or lack thereof.29.5% of the people on this poll think the Vols have less than 50% chance of winning against SC. That shows there is no confidence in Bank's defense and limited in Milton. I hope the Vols stomp them into mechanically separated chicken but I do not have any confidence in this defense.
I don’t know where Beamer pulled this from but Miss State is no where close to being the top ranked rushing team. Before the SC game, they were averaging around 150 a game. Now it’s even lowerWas not aware of this…from Beamer interview. If we can’t run we are in trouble. If ratler can’t pass they are in trouble.
On Running Back Room…
“Running backs, they’re deep. They’ve got three running backs that can all go. They’ve all got great vision, speed, burst, quickness. That’ll be a challenge for us without a doubt. They are the leading rushing offense in the SEC. So, last week against Mississippi State, we faced the No. 1 rushing offense in the country. This week we get to do it again. They ran for 303 yards against Texas-San Antonio Saturday and this isn’t like they popped some runs and run their yardage up. They’re handing the ball off 30-plus times a game. So we’ve got a big challenge on our hands to stop the run this week as well.”
- Note: The Gamecocks held Mississippi State to just 32 yards on 23 total carries in their game on Saturday. The Bulldogs found offense through the air, though, with quarterback Will Rogers going 30-of-48 for 487 passing yards.
You have no idea how "mediocre" Florida is. They're currently a top 25 team with 1 loss to a top 10 team and a victory over a top 25 team. We'll see later in the season how good they really are. All the dooms-dayers said the same thing about Pitt in '21 then they went on to a 2 loss regular season and ACC Championship. We have 3 wins behind us but none to outstanding teams. We have 1 loss to a mediocre team. How do you feel about our chances of Winning this weekend vs South Carolina at Home?
Everyone is picking the Vols to win in the Pick the Score thread....but you come over here and see what people really think.29.5% of the people on this poll think the Vols have less than 50% chance of winning against SC. Yeah. Who cares about the facts... your "feelings" are all that really matter.Everyone is picking the Vols to win in the Pick the Score thread....but you come over here and see what people really think.
SCar's strength is their passing game, and pass D seems to be a perpetual struggle for us.
They beat the brakes off of us last year and our team was WAY better last year than they are this year.
I want us to win, but I just don't see it happening. I don't care what the various stats say. For me, we don't pass the eye test.
All they have to do to stall our offense is stop the run and defend bubble/WR screens
All they have to do on offense to make our D look lost is follow Florida's blueprint, or just do what they did to us last year. I doubt we've made adjustments.
Sure, you’re right. Coaches never adjust anything. Hilarious!Everyone is picking the Vols to win in the Pick the Score thread....but you come over here and see what people really think.
