Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

I think that's a little generous. 6th is probably the best bet for us. I can't see us having a better record than those four plus Houston and Portland.

Losing Parsons and Lin will set Houston back a little. Portland is iffy beyond the starting 5. Also I only named 3. G.S. will fall some without Mark Jackson as well.

Losing Lin is addition by subtraction. Ariza hits 3's at the same clip as Parsons but he plays defense. I don't think losing Mark Jackson as coach means much.

1-8 is fine with me. I do believe we had a pretty decent win pct with all our guys healthy and we're having a good offseason.

1-8, lulz. Can't argue with that.

The offseason has been good, but I obviously wanted Prince moved and see that as a shortfall.

I'm starting to buy Stokes as being a good asset after his summer league performance.

I think I'm out on Franklin. Not being able to shoot vs average summer league D is a big problem.

Franklin won't last in the league.

If there's ~40 min a game for jimmy butler, there's at least a bench spot for Jamal Franklin

His shooting took a huge dip last year. Don't know which is more indicative of his play on offense, last year or the year before. Probably somewhere in the middle, which is decent. His defense is good though.

Carter has aged better than Pierce. That's why he's better right now. Back in their prime years, that's up for debate.

I'd probably give VC their rookie year. 02-03 & 03-04 would be two you could argue, because PP shot so poorly. But he was superior in asts and rebs and D. The aged well argument is a little funny, because the 6 years prior to this one isn't even close it's PP by a mile. This year was really close as their numbers across the board are extremely similar per 36. VC has done a great job figuring out a new role, and PP still wants to be the man though. So in that respect I'd give VC the nod. I just think VC is one of the most overrated players of all time. While there is a reason LBJ has called PP his biggest rival, that's pretty high praise.
