Sure - it’s absolutely fine if he comes back.I don’t see any harm in Jonas V opting in for next year. Gives JJJ another year to bulk up. He’s not ready to play the 5, but he will be eventually.

But what I mean is, I’ve noticed a lot of Grizzlies fans tying their hopes to him coming back. Almost a doom and gloom approach if he leaves and that’s funny to me. But some people seem to think this roster is a pick or two away from competing for the playoffs and I just don’t see that.

I was going to say the same in my original reply but got lazy. I get why, I just don’t want him signed long term. 2-3 year deal max IMOHe may be thinking he just wants the security. I don't see him making $17.6M per year, but maybe he thinks he can get 4/$64M and it is better than risking injury. I've always liked him, but he's a regular season center.
