Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

I don’t see any harm in Jonas V opting in for next year. Gives JJJ another year to bulk up. He’s not ready to play the 5, but he will be eventually.

Sure - it’s absolutely fine if he comes back.

But what I mean is, I’ve noticed a lot of Grizzlies fans tying their hopes to him coming back. Almost a doom and gloom approach if he leaves and that’s funny to me. But some people seem to think this roster is a pick or two away from competing for the playoffs and I just don’t see that.

Having Jonas back next year would help the team remain competitive as it rebuilds. Nothing more.

Same. He shouldn’t get that much on another deal.

He may be thinking he just wants the security. I don't see him making $17.6M per year, but maybe he thinks he can get 4/$64M and it is better than risking injury. I've always liked him, but he's a regular season center.

Not AAV but bigger dollars

I would have preferred he opt in

I was going to say the same in my original reply but got lazy. I get why, I just don’t want him signed long term. 2-3 year deal max IMO
