Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

The Grizzlies traded Kyle Korver and Javon Carter for Josh Jackson

What a ****ing great trade

The Grizz FO is killing it this offseason. They’re finding value in each trade piece they receive and flip it for more value. This is competence.

Let’s see josh jackson do something besides get high before we pop champagne bottles ha

To me, it’s the fact that the Grizz flipped Korver for picks and rolling the dice on a former lottery pick. Korver would’ve never suited up for Memphis but they got value for him. Losing Jevon for Melton was a draw.

Melton is almost 3 years younger than Carter as well.

Jackson has shown flashes. The Athletic has a good article on the trade. He payed for 3 coaches in 2 years, and about 20 PGs (none of them very good).

Though it really doesn’t help with the roster crunch needed still.

Still need a shooter. I feel like a broken record.
Jackson's numbers improved from year 1 to 2 (3P% and FT). Not saying he's gonna change much, but he is still younger than their (Suns) lottery pick this year. Plus (IMO), he has a better roster here to play along side of.
Not to mention a J-squared lineup is awesome. (Hell, throw Jae out there for a starting lineup of all J's)

Josh
Jaren
Jonas

I feel like Ja Wright and Melton is very redundant... but maybe they feel they can combo Wright/Melton. Long, athletic... fits the mold of the new direction.

Need an upgrade at SG for sure. Hopefully Brooks is that guy.

Gonna have to pair Ja with a big shooter in the backcourt - not sure it matters so much this year though.
