Your Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Thread III

I don’t have power currently. It’s at the point that I can’t defend anymore of all the things that are wrong in this city: Infrastructure, crime, leadership, Wanda Halbert, MLGW, and there’s more.

The Grizz help make me forget about it.

I'm at my wits end to. Me and my spouse have had numerous discussions about moving. I just keep moving further and further east but the incompetence just keeps expanding.

We can't even hire people to trim trees because they keep getting their vehicles stolen

My wife and I have had the same conversation. It’s unfortunate. I’m in Germantown and I love it, but eventually it’s going to end up like East Memphis in 10-20 years, if nothing changes. But for my career, Memphis probably isn’t the best market for the next 30-40 years, so it’s a reality that I’m going to face soon.

What? I’m getting in the trimming hiring market currently. Lol

We lost power for a couple of hours. What was the cause of the outages? I assumed lightning strike not wind.

The last CEO (who I have no voting power on btw) at least stood up to Cohen’s croneyism and stayed with TVA. Plus he actually raised rates to improve infrastructure. He wasn’t the most inspiring/reliable guy (I met him) but got those things right.

Worsening crime has certainly gotten my attention to where I’m considering retiring away.

Tree service employees robbed in broad daylight

Memphis tree trimmer robbed of chainsaws, police say

I can post 5 more of these...

MLGW has got better since it stopped being treated as a patronage job bank for Herenton supporters. But it has taken a while to rid it of the dead weight.

It's the same conversation we are having now. It's more of where we are going to move to rather than will we stay in the Memphis area...

Let me know how you guys research turns out for places to move to. When I started the conversation with my wife apparently Sweden wasn’t an appropriate answer

Knoxville is on my list as well. My timeline is 3-5 days.

PS - can’t use your water for anything. Drinking, bathing, washing hands, etc. because we live in a 3rd world country

Almost like that's what many have been saying about Memphis forever now

Mojo- used to be in Lakeland. Moved east. Probably to Oakland.

95- Arlington?

Brown- Germantown

Gordon- Germantown

Who am I missing?
