Bane is fine as a backup PG or a starter against crap teams.

He should not be running point guard against competent starting PGs on competent teams with less than 3 mins to go (see Houston losses).

The team needed a legitimate backup (Tyus). Deals that prevented that, such as Smart or not clearing salary to get him this offseason, were dumb.

Steep price to pay for long-term insurance because of Ja's immaturity.....

Hopefully Ja realizes the team gave up its first this year, it's most valuable long term pick (GSW) plus a PG that could net a first rounder all because he wanted to play wannabe gangster. The price could grow if the team has to move Clarke or Konchar to clear long term salary to avoid paying the luxury tax.

I see it as long-term insurance for Ja since Tyus is gone after this season. The only way you do this deal is if you don't trust Ja long term.

For Marcus Smart, the Celtics got Kristaps, 2 firsts, and unloaded Galinari's and Muscala's contracts...

Ja is basically AI in style of play. He will be wrecked sooner than most players given his slight frame. They seem to be trying to offset that. IMO

The only thing preventing this team from contending are the swings and misses with the big wing (Justise, drafting Ziaire over Trey, Smart) and Ja regressing from his 2nd year and not developing any semblance of a shot.

With that said, Jimmy Butler aint the answer....
