What's your take on Clausen saying that if the fans don't like the offense then they don't have to watch it.

Sounds like something Jerry Green would have said.

wow, a guy who speaks his mind. I just think he is tired of hearing all the fans whine and complain when he is taking a beating out there day in and day out..........

Can't say that I blame him. It's got to be frustrating for him the way the offense has sputtered and then having to listen to all the "experts" talk about how to fix it.

I don't have a problem with our offense, really. I think we just need better returns so the offense doesn't have to go 80+ yards every time. Either that or we could try and stretch the field more. Maybe a drive in less than 20 plays (<- exaggeration).

i like it. People are so fast to demand perfection but if he produces victories then i dont care if we win 3-0.

I guess I'll just go refill my flask while we have the ball.

he can say what he wants.. fact is if the offense plays like it has the first 4 games we will lose.. Our defense cant carry us all the time look at what happened in Florida...If he goes out there and wins he can expect me and a lot of other people to shut the hell up.. :cross:

I agree that as long as we win it doesn't matter. But it sure would be a lot easier on the old ticker if we had a blow out every now & then. Then again, a blow out just wouldn't be typical Tennessee football. Close games do make it more exciting. :twocents:

"Ultimately, I thought that was the main goal, was to win games. If we put 500 yards up on the board and lose the football game, what's that mean? Nothing."

Can't argue with that. You tell 'em Rick!

Sounds like he has put himself in a position that he can do the job and to hell with all the naysayers. All it does for me is to expect for him to show us where we are all wrong (in other words just run the offense and we will all be happy). I haven't been negative myself, but if someone calls a group out I hope he can prove them wrong!!! Get 'r done Rick, I'm with ya!!!

Sounds like the old dinardo quote where he wanted only vandy fans to show up for the games and not the vandy/ut fans.

what frustrates me about Clausen and the offense is that they keep saying "we are due to have a big play" or we are due to have a good game offensively. In my opinion, no offensive is ever "due". The offense has to go out and make plays for 4 quarters. Big plays and good offensive production do not just happen, they have to make it happen.

Stupid! The fans are very much behind him. Also he is smarter than that. The fans have the right to critique. I thoguht he was smarter than that.

IMO if Clausen had been in the game the whole time we might have won, but we'll never know cause Ainge was the main man then. ( And no I'm not an Ainge hater but being down on Clausen because of the Florida loss isn't quite fair now is it)

A 1 point win in conference is as good as a 40 point blowout against a powderpuff. Just keep the W's coming Rick, I'll still be watching. :ninja:
(of course I'd still be watching if Ainge or Cooter were in there)

Well, I always thought RC was a little smarter than CC, but now that he is shooting his mouth off, I just don't know anymore.

I think he has every right to say it, besides what does he have to lose... I know, I know, a game. But everyone has doubted him, including myself because he is what he is, a back up quarterback that has average talent but outstanding leadership, he has earned the right to say it...so far.
