Are you sorry tho? Pretty sure you as well missed the dark humor that was going on early in the thread. If you like don’t Like dark humor it’s probably bc you don’t understand some people deal with scary issues this way bc they’ve had a traumatic childhood or even something as an adult.Yikes! Sorry that you represent Vol fans in any way.
Incidence of myopericarditis after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination: A meta-analysis with focus on adolescents aged 12–17 years - ScienceDirect
Summary:
Risk of myocarditis among youth after COVID vaccine was NO HIGHER than among other vaccines, extremely low. But risk of myocarditis after COVID infection was much higher than from vaccines.
Many such real scientific studies if you just search scholarly articles and not misinformation on social media.
Myocarditis from COVID-19 booster rare, but risk highest among teen boys, young men
You're arguing an entirely different thing which was not the basis in the beginning. But once again here's the AHA linking an increased risk among young males following vaccination.
Since we know COVID also causes heart-related issues, couldn't the cause of heightened issues be the virus itself and not the vaccine?
People speaking poorly of Kirk in a thread about his son having a serious health issue probably because he said something about the Vols they don't like and anti-vaxxers really showing off the gutters of Vol fandom in this thread.
Yes. Studies all over the world have shown COVID-19 infection poses a much higher risk for myocarditis than Covid vaccines. The vaccine related myocarditis are generally very rare 0.006% (or 1 in 15,000 humans) and typically considered mild and non threatening. These effects are not significantly higher than many other vaccine side effects we currently use. Flu shots also cause myocarditis in very rare instances.
I do not want to make this forum vaccine discussion. My apologies. I enjoy Vol football discussion here but with all the misinformation being spread around I saw a post here and got sucked in.
Go Vols.
The cause of a lot of heart issues in that age group is drinking too many energy drinks. Our High School lost a young man to a heart attack last year, and the coroner's report determined it was caused by him drinking nine large Monsters in just a few hours. People just assume they are safe, but they are hard on your Cardio-Pulmonary system when drinking too many. I wouldn't drink more than a couple a day.
My son was having elevated BP, and our doctor told him to quit drinking them. His BP has improved 100%.
My first cousin died of a coronary on a long-distance haul last fall, He drank 11 out of a 12-pack in the few hours prior. He was a bit out of the age-range, but it's a problem.
Guarana, taurine and L-carnitine all intensify the effect of the caffeine, so a large can is like 3-6 large cups of coffee in some people's system.
Scary.Exactly! This story below scares me to this day and I haven’t been the same since, but I left Nashville for Knoxville one Saturday morning in 2014 for an early TN kickoff. I recall buying a coffee @ McDonalds and later still being exhausted, so I stopped @ a gas station to buy a five hour energy drink.
I remember drinking it and being about an hour or so from Knoxville. The next thing I remember is being in the hospital @ Ft Sanders.
My son was 11 @ the time and apparently I had just parked my car at fraternity row and then collapsed while crossing the street near the “rock.” Luckily I had just parked the car as God was looking after us they day.
Anyway, apparently I went to one knee in the middle of the street. I hit the ground and had a horrible seizure.
I stayed one nt in the hospital and the report read that I ingested excessive caffeine causing a rapid heart beat.
I don’t remember anything but I was in the ER for four hours until I was admitted over night. I was anxious and supposedly kept telling the nurse I was going to pass out. My son said she became very angry and told me to be quiet but my mind wasn’t right. I had stress tests later that yr but all was well. The brain scans came back okay too.
It was the first and last time I’ve ever drank one of those things and I’ve never touched an energy drink in my life. It still scares me to this day. My now 20 yr old son drinks energy drinks and they scare me.

Not arguing that caffeine drinks are dangerous, but they don’t affect most people the way they affect you. Maybe you are just kinda soft. All other tests came back negative, including stress test. I still drink a few cups of coffee but apparently the five hour energy drink is dangerous and outlawed in a few states.
Things don’t always come across as intended on forums like this. I honestly was trying to joke with you. Please accept a my bad.
Sorry to hear about your health issues, my joke was certainly in poor taste. At least you know to stay away from them going forward. Stay upright my friend. No worries and I appreciate you clarifying. I don’t like discussing as the seizure did something to my central nervous system. I didn’t leave the house beyond work for a year as I felt anxious thinking it could happen again. I couldn’t get my brain to believe that a five he energy drink could cause damage but every test came back negative.
Since then I’ve met people who have had similar reactions.
Anyway, thanks again.
