How come none of you told me that replacing the shocks and emptying out the trap on my front load washing machine would be a lot like work?

Also the trap was pretty disgusting. No one mentioned that either. How does a youth sock make it through those tiny holes in the drum? Oh and 2 regular sized pennies. Is there a secret hole in the washer to let random full sized items through?

The new shocks were as expensive as car shocks fwiw. Fortunately they were 1/10th as robust or quality as car shocks so things are balanced out.

Yes it was new like 5 years ago. Whirlpool duet front load yadda yadda. Normal maintenance otherwise working fine.
