Beer!

To be honest, I made the decision to get out of the cheap seats because it is already a problem even before the beer ban was lifted. This just reminded me of how shockingly some "adults" behave at the games. I can't see it improving with easier access to alcohol.
No chance that it doesn't get worse. Prior to this only a certain percentage of people that didn't get caught trying to smuggle alcohol in were drinking. Now, anyone with proper ID can continue the pregame party all the way till to the bitter end because they'll be drunk enough by last call to make it to the end.

YeeHaw doesn't currently have that sort of production or packaging capacity.

You don’t realize how big they are. I can find dunkel in cans in almost every Kroger in Nash area and on tap in probably 90% of bars that carry crafts. They are huge. You don’t become the official craft brewery of Bridgestone arena, Bristol Motor Sppedway and Nissan stadium by just being a local beer in East Tennessee. They can handle Neyland easily.

I won't be surprised if Yazoo doesn't make a case to be the local option, and if Sweetwater doesn't show up with an attractive revenue split as well since 420 does well in Tennessee.

Yazoo couldn’t even get Bridgestone and Nissan in their own city from Yee Haw 300 miles away.

They have a 20,000 barrel system, which is not very large, and they made somewhere between 11-13,000 barrels this year. As of the end of 2018 Left Hand Brewing was the 50th craft brewery in the US according to production numbers, and they made about 64,000 barrels on a 100,000 barrel system.

Yazoo couldn’t even get Bridgestone and Nissan in their own city from Yee Haw 300 miles away.

Yazoo was the official craft beer of Bridgestone from 2011 till whenever they stopped paying the naming fee, and they were and are still a 25,000 barrel brewery.

Completely anecdotal but it has been my observation at Ascend amphitheater and the Ryman that when there is a show with a heavy drinking crowd, the craft brews sell out despite costing typically 25% more for 33% less product. You do get a bit more ABV in most of the craft brews but I would think that the people who are really paying attention to that would be buying liquor or wine, which are also available.

That’s because the people that enjoy those, including myself, enjoy flavor and not just a watered down run of the mill beer. I agree with you.

I get that... Sounds like to me yahoo is happy being where they are and yeehaw is stepping up. Fact is, one company is ready for more as evident by their recent Bridgestone and Nissan aggressive play in middle Tennessee and would also be a great choice for UT to put a few in neyland.

I really doubt it. I bet they are like our Baptist brothers in this part of the country and imbibe in dark places or "out of town". The BYU's will be out of town.

You are correct. I lived in the Mormon bastions of Arizona, California, and Nevada. In direct contact with members of the Latter Day Saints (LDS is their proper name) and can tell you firsthand they're no different than anyone else. And you're correct that as it is with others who proclaim being religious so loud, they as bad or worse, often worse than the surrounding"unenlightened." And that was true centuries ago, even God griped at His chosen people about this same thing. Back to my direct experience, let's just say I got introduced to things I'd otherwise be ignorant about save for these LDS. They chase tail, drink, brawl, and whatever else with the best (or should I say worst?) of them. Not all, mind you, but enough of them. On the plus side, Las Vegas casinos tend to prefer hiring Mormons as they're generally more honest than non-Mormons. But then, you have to ask yourself, what kind of "Christian" works in the vice industry?

The difference between the Baptists and the Mormons, is that the Mormons still smile and wave when you run into them in liquor store.

Will my “where’s my whiskey” cat and mouse with security continue?
I remember going to a game in 97 and seeing some of my old middle school teachers with a full fifth of Jack Daniels...and I'm thinking how in the hell did they sneak that one in...I just got the rubber glove treatment with a student ID..

Maybe they used the old prison purse?

Eh... could be a hassle to buy a beer. I went to professional soccer game in Gillette Stadium and went to buy 2 beers. Nope... only one per person in line. So, I took a second mortgage and bought one.

I don’t think Aramark provides concessions at Neyland. It’s Sodexo I think. Aramark provides the campus dining.

Anecdotal review of in-stadium beer sales. I went to Vandy-UGA yesterday and they were selling. Sales were at tents set up in wider concourse areas. Two beer at a time limit. 16 Oz cans of craft beer were $9, which I thought was reasonable. I did not visit the tents where domestics were sold so don't know price but everything was poured into uniform size cups so I assume quantity was the same. Sales stopped at end of 3rd quarter. Some of the more popluar craft beers sold out by halftime.

I made two purchases. Pre-kickoff I stood in line maybe 20 minutes. After halftime, I found a tent with no wait. Bathroom lines did not seem to be affected.

I assume the beer tents were placed to avoid having beer buyers crowd out regular concessions. Also may have to do with needing a server permit for beer sales, but I'm not sure about that.

Overall, it worked well. Lots of people were taking advantage of the option to purchase. Crowd did not seem any rowdier than usual.
