I don't like objects being thrown. That was pretty terrible after a great atmosphere, but I can see why people got mad.
First of all, getting hosed on the "forward progress play. The play was not called dead at the time, they did that retroactively.
The second was that they all of the sudden decided on the final drive to call holding after being held all game by Ole Miss. You can call holding anytime that game, but unless it was egregious you don't call it on that drive. I didn't see something really blatant enough to make that call.
Finally the spot by one ref who was closest had us past the 40 while the other ref who was 15 yards downfield and could not see the ball because of way he was tackled ran up and spotted us a yard short. I really don't know where the ball should be placed, it was very close but definitely not a yard short. It just seemed that the wrong ref made the call and no angle was available to overturn it.
I think the team played their hearts out and some of the fans got caught up in the emotions of it all. Throwing stuff on the field was terrible, but how is no one even talking about how terrible the refs were on that game?
They inserted themselves into the outcome of the game and took 7 points off the board and completely stopped a drives when we had momentum and time at the end of the game.
