…but can she tie a maraschino cherry stem with her tongue only?

She got it after an eighth place finish in the SEC in a first round loss in the NCAA tournament. Interpret that however you'd like.
Accurate. But could never capture pulling up to an E8, regular season or tournament championship. She just had to be better, reality sets in hard sometimes after defending less than mediocrity.

You left out her best years were with those players that got 8th.

???

That implies that she "coached up" the players she inherited...the very definition of "being better."

"Less than mediocrity?"

If finishing third in a 14-team conference and returning to the Sweet Sixteen in consecutive years is considered (by you) to be "less than mediocrity," then what is your definition of "mediocre?"
Second place? Elite Eight?

This continual overplaying of your hand is why your opinions on Harper can't be taken seriously.

That would imply the roster she inherited was better than what she left. That’s what it would imply. Curious how many teams were tied for 3rd in year 1.

?????

The roster she inherited finished eighth. The roster she's leaving tied for fourth.

Math isn't that hard.
It’s not hard. More teams ranked when Holly left then now. You’re right, math isn’t hard.

12-37 is my opinion on Kellie.

"More teams ranked?" Now what are you on about?

You set up a talking point about the condition of the program inherited. When your "astute" point is proven demonstrably false, rather than admit your error, you resort to moving the backboards. More of that vaunted "honesty" on display.

Kellie inherited a roster with a star player headed out the door, another valuable player leaving to protest the hiring, and a team that barely made the Tournament in a decision widely considered to be a pity vote. There was a lot of talent left, but the culture was seriously damaged.

You'd do better just sticking to the 12-37 mantra. At least that's factual and not just distorting the record to fit a fantasy narrative.

You said math is easy. Holly coached in a tougher league at the time of her exit. Remember math is easy. Not sure that’s dishonesty as you state, or your failure to look it up before you spin it. As I said last night, I don’t think Holly or Kellie are writing chapters on team culture. But keep repeating culture in Kellie’s accolades as it might have been slightly better.

It certainly seems that certain "fans" are proactively laying the groundwork to blame the previous coaches in the event of failure this year...which they very obviously are expecting.

After all, if finishing fourth is considered "less than mediocre," then the new staff must finish third in conference, play in the conference title game, and make the Sweet Sixteen just to be "mediocre.". Wizard White said he didn't make the change just to be "good," so anything less than second in conference, conference tournament title, and Elite Eight finish is unacceptable next year.

It appears that a few have more vested interest (for whatever odd reason) in proving how bad they think the program-wreckers were than in seeing the current staff succeed. Not a good look for "fans of the program."

That’s beautiful, all she has to do is be better than Kellie. It’s glorious to see the reverse UNO played on those who defended Kellie and now they question everything. Your mockery of White shows the side you want to be on when this unfolds.

I find your ramblings to be less than mediocre.

It’s amazing that people criticize White when this is the best our athletic department has ever been…. We are extremely lucky to have DW, Plowman, and Boyd.

But you keep coming back like a middle school crush.

I like to throw a bone to the lonely hearts every now and then.

Besides, Honest John, you were the one crowing about how your genius observations drove away posters who had no comeback. Now it appears that you have a hard time handling rejection of your pathological attacks upon Harper. It's led you into a defensive scrambling for scrub brush in a futile attempt to cover your errors. One of your faces is obscured, but your posterior is showing.

Never stated genius, just honest observations. You flatter me with your complements though.

Well, now, let's compare schedules.

In her last year, Holly played four ranked teams OOC. So did Kellie...back to back.

Holly played four ranked SEC teams...#4, 14, 15, & 17. She played #4 Ms. State again in the SEC Tournament, so we'll add a fifth.

Kellie only played two at-the-time- ranked SEC teams but played multiple games against the undefeated national champion. So she played #1, #6, #1, and then #1 again. Notable that the results against #1 SC kept improving each successive game, as we all know. Holly's results were getting worse. Her team was destroyed by Ms State in the SEC Tournament.

Kellie's last team had a very disappointing season for a team with such high preseason hopes. Given Rickea's graduation and the persistent problems of poor high school recruiting and failing to close out games, it wasn't a huge surprise to see White opt for a change now. But trying to portray Holly's last season as being better than Kellie's is disingenuous on every objective level. And that's putting it politely.

And they say chivalry is dead. All that zig zag of numbers to somehow continuously boast mediocrity.

Believe the stance was she received a better roster than what she left.

Glad you said "believe" to allow wiggle room fo yourself we hen confronted by inconvenient truths. There was nothing said about "roster." It was about "the program.' The "hard reality" is that you somehow find being tied for eighth in a conference more desirable to finishing tied for fourth place.

So let us know your true feelings about how you feel next year's team will finish. Your White-washing approach would lead us to believe that the horrible roster CKC inherited will finish third or higher... competing for a championship. Unless you really don't trust Danny and believe that he means what he says.

Not sure it’s an “inconvenient truth” when I’ve held firm that she was in over her head. Keep up - from roster management, recruiting, player disciplinary, in game decisions to overall record in games that matter. You can parlay all of that into program or you can break it down for your next attempt to save Kellie. Either way is fine. Again, how many teams were tied for 3rd in year one?

As for Caldwell, she’ll be alright as the bar following Kellie is low. She just has to be better.

I really do think she had a special team with that last group. Eva, Annie. Rennia, Zaay, Kasi, Rae and Mimi were all on that team. Annie may had left already. Not sure why it went so South. Any coach in America would have loved that group. Holly just wasn't able to get them to play together.

First place to start is what changed in it going south. Holly gave the players more freedom and standards faded away. Upperclassmen failed to pass along the way it is playing for Tennessee and coaches failed by not having players buy in. Toss in Evina who was ready to blow up on the staff and you get the ending.
