Chris DunkleyPahokee is no stranger to producing elite D-1 talent. This year is no different. Last year they sent players to Michigan, Tennessee, N.C. State, amongst others. This year they currently have several players who have already verbally pledged to schools like Florida State, West Virginia, Wake Forest, and Miami. Yet one of their top stars remains open to all schools he claims. The 5’10” 164 lb and 13th best player on ESPN’s top 150, wide receiver Chris Dunkley, has an offer sheet that is long and distinguished. He holds offers from virtually every major program in the nation. And yet he still wants more.

“Yeah I have a lot of offers, unfortunately I can’t even remember all of them. Right now I’d say that Florida, West Virginia, USC, Tennessee, and Georgia are coming after me the hardest. I really don’t have a favorite or even a top list yet. I’m still wide open to looking at all schools,” said Dunkley.

Recently Chris was in attendance for the star studded Friday Night lights camp at the University of Florida.

“FNL went well. I wanted to show everyone I’m the top wide receiver in the nation. I think I did that, I think I deserve my fifth star.”

There were a number of rumors after the FNL camp that Chris had committed to the Gators, or that they were the favorite for the star.

“Nope, I’m wide open. There’s a rumor about me every day. A few months ago I was supposively committed to USC. I’m open and trying to set up some visits. I have one planned for sure, I will visit Florida for the game versus Tennessee. I will do more, but I don’t have any set in stone yet.”

“I’m just looking for a school that will make me better as a receiver. Everyone is going to have the same things, nice facilites, stadium, just in different colors. I really hope to study and become a lawyer when I get to school. I’m not really worried about distance either, I’m a ball player, I’m just looking for a place to play,” said Dunkley.

Chris does have one thing planned however. He wants to make his announcement at the Under Armour All Amercian game in Orlando.

He also has a good friend at a school in Tennessee that is in his ear.

“Yeah my boy NuKeese Richardson is up there. He tells me how cool it is. I am looking at them a lot right now.”

It would appear that another SEC powerhouse is getting some attention from Dunkley as well.

“Alabama is nice too. I like Coach Williams. I really did enjoy myself on my last visit.”

Right now Chris has one thing he would like to work on this year, adding some weight to his frame.

“I am around 170 lbs. right now, I’d like to get up to 180 lbs or so. I know I can do it, I just need to spend some time in the weight room.”

Sounds like this recruitment is just getting started. Lots of rumors swirl around Chris, but he maintains everyone has a chance so stay tuned to see what happens.

This kid would be a great pick for us. Nukeese can go a long way toward helping us with him. I lived just north of Pahokee for 35 yrs. and to be as small-town as they are that area that school has turned out some of the best in the nation. In all my years in that area I don’t think we ever beat them. Their homecomming of 1969-70 was one I’ll never forget . A kid named Leopold Sterling scored 7 td’s on us. Granted, our team wasn’t any good but they did this to all the teams they played. Their coach finally came to our school, the year after our classification changed and we didn’t play them anyone. WE went UP a notch!! We got to play St. Thomas Aquiness!! Come on up Dunkley, welcome, Be a Vol! GO VOLS!!!
