That’s a typical trend every Olympics. We rack up heavy during week 2 in particular the track events. Week 1 is typically the silly events we don’t care as much about.

That is a good argument, but it looked and sounded like TO ME...that she had some bad runs, got embarrassed about it, and she got frustrated (understandably) about judging, then quit and tried to retroactively cover her butt.

Plus...I said already that it was some of the things she was quoted as saying afterwards that really gave me a sour feeling about her.

Like I said..you buy it, I don't, but I'm self aware enough to say that maybe it's because the times have made me extremely cynical towards these latest generations.

I have never been one for saying the PC thing to stay in everyones good graces and I never will be, whether I sound foolish or not to you is irrelevant to me, but I do have a mind that can be changed, so I may feel differently about this whole thing later.

Good man...props for this post. I share a lot of your sentiments towards how people in the current teen to young adult generation act. A good portion seem to have turned into soft, attention seeking, whining pansies and I also don't like a quitter.

I just think that Biles has earned the benefit of the doubt with all she went through and still becoming the greatest in her sport. Someone came at you the other day and you told them that there were things you had gone through and only the anonymity of this board allowed you to mention anything about it and that it doesn't define you. I just figure that what you went through would make you appreciate how Simone overcame abuse that the whole world knew about and became a champion. That's inspirational....even if she did stumble in this years Olympics, she should be celebrated.

Question off the subject… can you tell me, roughly, how long RSV is contagious?

I tested positive for it and have been fighting it these last 3 wks, only starting to improve these last couple of days. They say the young and healthy can shake it off like a common cold, but it hits harder the older folks. I am almost 66 so I guess that makes me an old 'un. Let us know if you get a better answer on when contagious.

It was an alright article. It was all over the place though, from how he could possibly be the starting slot reciever to possibly not making the 53 roster.

God is good! To our surprise, my daughter and grandson got to come home yesterday! He is doing well, and has a super happy big sister!! Haven’t met him yet, waiting for the dust to settle and them get some rest and situated. Thanks for all the kind words and prayers from Volnation! I have a daughter who is 24 and a son 15. They are as close as a brother and sister can be. They would take care of each other no matter what. He is now the bigger one even though he is younger. They will grow up together and will be wonderful. This picture just really takes me back. Glad all is going so well as both of mine were born early as well.

Butch’s first roster had a good OL.

Bailey at QB is better than Worley. I guess we don’t know what we have at RB, but it’s probably just as good as Neil and Lane. Marquez North, a freshman, was our best WR. Pig was solid, but Croom, Dallas, and Blanc were behind that. Hyatt, Jones, Payton, Tillman, Calloway, Keyton, and Holiday are and more talented.

Butch’s DL had some decent talent with McCullers, Smith, Walls, and Miller, but this year’s team is on par. LB’s were nothing after AJ Johnson because I think Maggitt got hurt. Even with our poor LB depth, it’s not worse. Secondary was Coleman, Sutton (as a freshman), Randolph, McNeil, Toney...Eric Gordon got kicked off. Slow, slow.

I just think this roster has talent than can be developed. Certainly not any worse than that one.

Yeah to be clear, I think there’s a decent chance this year’s roster is more talented than Butch’s first roster. My only point was that the recruiting star rankings of the roster likely isn’t a good indicator of overall team talent. A chunk of those guys have been playing below their high school rankings for a while, thus the 3-7 debacle in 2020, etc. etc.

Time will tell though - maybe I’m wrong and we’ve quietly got one of the more talented rosters in the SEC. Nothing I’ve seen on Saturdays the past few years makes me think that’s true but we will see.

I know it'll be hard for some of you but Mr Smokin (my dawg hubby) broke (shattered) his kneecap and had surgery to repair it. He’s going into week 3 of PT…positive thoughts, prayers are appreciated. (For him and for me!)

Was it their fault? I mean it’s natural at some point all star pitchers will run into this these days. Timing is the bad part. It’s more why I don’t understand why a star pitcher would risk going to college if they are drafted high. I don’t know his situation coming out of HS but with how good he was out the gate surely he was highly thought of already.

Overuse is a big issue. Rockers velo dropped a lot from his freshman year, and he threw a ton in Omaha at the end of the year. TBH he probably needed to sit the last 2-3 months if not have some kind of surgery

Typically 5-8 days.
Hopefully that helps.

Immunocompromised can be up to 4 weeks…that includes infants with RSV.

Apparently I haven’t. She wants me to “understand” I tell her I do, and ask if we can move on and have some enjoyable time together, but no. Apparently I still don’t get it and it’s too important to let happiness get in the way of.
