Listen I know there are a confident few of you out there who love UT basketball so much (and with good reason) that you would still believe that this team has a shot, albeit a very long one, I want you to think again before you kid yourself anymore!!!!!

Seriously, there is no way the panel would invite this team to the tourney? The league is way down this year, and wins against Georgetown and Siena doesn't look as impressive as they did 11 games ago. Tennessee needed that win against Gonzaga at home...couldn't get: They needed that win on the road against Auburn...couldn't get it: They needed that win at home against LSU....couldn't get it. If we win those three, the pressure isn't as intense as it is now. The kids are too young to handle pressure. If they win those three, confidence is high, they have a strong record...17-5....and they could afford to drop games on the road. Now, they really, really, really need to beat Florida...ON THE ROAD; they need to beat USC....ON THE ROAD; they need to beat Kentucky....ON THE ROAD; WORST OF ALL THESE TEAMS ARE FOAMING AT THE MOUTH TO KICK OUR TEETH IN!!!!

Need I say more?

Tennessee will make the tournament. Their goal right now should be to stay away from the 7-8 seed so that they don't have to play a top 2 seed in the second round.

Point is, if you look forward at the remaining schedule, Tennessee is in a world of hurt. I don't know how clearer I could be. Maybe I should draw a picture and show you the amount of trouble we are in.

Is it too much to say that this team was highly overrated and still is! Is it too much to say that this team has no backbone! Too many times this year has Tennessee been on the ropes, bounced back, then lost it in the final round!

Is it too much to say that this team will lose on the road at Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky...All of whom have more than ample reason to kick the #$it out of us?

I was a believer after the win at home at Florida and the win on the road at Arkansas, but losing at Auburn, the way they did, similar to a few losses they have had this year gives me no reason to believe this is a tourney team given the remainder of their schedule.

3-5 at best, puts them at 8-8 17-13. Sorry, don't see much of a resume their.

Is it to much to ask for you and your negativity to go away?

Is it too much to ask for your unfounded positivity to go away?

Seriously, How many times can one team bounce back after tough losses? Im not critcizing UT, I've been behind them all season, watch every game I can.

I'm just a realist, that's all :good!:

It bugs me to see an unfounded amount of respect for a team (6th in the tourney and so on) that in my opinion doesn't have such a clear path to make it to the tourney.

They'll win anywhere from 3-6 games left on their schedule. They should win at least one in the SEC tourney. Let's take the average and say they win a total of about 5 more games. That puts us at about 19-12. According to the RPI, they're still in the top 25 with a SOS in the top 5. I don't see us finishing any worse than 4th in the SEC. The SEC could get a maximum of 6 teams in, but more than likely, it will get 4 teams in. There you go.

Tennessee will make the NCAA Tournament. Period. Doesn't mean they're good. It simply means they are one of the best 30 or so at large candidates. I'd love for those who think they're not going to make it name enough at larges to keep them out of the field.

I've been behind Tennessee since I was 10 yrs old. My respect comes from the fact that I love my state. Some of us were born Tennessee fans and some of us jumped on the bang wagon....It's obvious which one you are.

I will say this to argue that point. As of now, Tennessee is 5-6 in their past 11 games.

Only quality win was (H) Florida and (R) Arkansas. Road loss at Auburn and home loss to Kentucky made us look, well undeserving.

To me, they lose the rest of their road games. The reason I believe that is because they have proved time and time and time again that they have a hard time winning tough games. I'm telling you this team is a long shot to make the tourney.

So, with all the above said, If I asked you in a months time, and Tennessee had only won 9 of its last 19 games, which is possible giving the way they have played, would you be so certain that this team would be in the NCAA Tourney for sure?

It's not how you start, It's how you finish. Now hey, I'm all for a strong finish, but until they can prove otherwise then I will continue to argue my point!

Tennessee is 8-3 away from home. To say they lose the rest of their road games is pretty idiotic.
