At this point, I believe Tennessee is more of a lock than Florida is.

Definately after last nights loss to UK. I think Mississippi State still might throw a wrench in the spokes, so to speak. If they ( or another non-contender... i.e Georgia last year) wins the SEC tournament.... then we POSSIBLY have 5 bids, but probably 4. Either scenario, I feel like someone gets left out at the end from the SEC east. LSU is in, and then someone from the east stays home. Assuming UT wins out or finishes with 19 wins, your in with RPI and SOS.

Listen I know there are a confident few of you out there who love UT basketball so much (and with good reason) that you would still believe that this team has a shot, albeit a very long one, I want you to think again before you kid yourself anymore!!!!!

Seriously, there is no way the panel would invite this team to the tourney? The league is way down this year, and wins against Georgetown and Siena doesn't look as impressive as they did 11 games ago. Tennessee needed that win against Gonzaga at home...couldn't get: They needed that win on the road against Auburn...couldn't get it: They needed that win at home against LSU....couldn't get it. If we win those three, the pressure isn't as intense as it is now. The kids are too young to handle pressure. If they win those three, confidence is high, they have a strong record...17-5....and they could afford to drop games on the road. Now, they really, really, really need to beat Florida...ON THE ROAD; they need to beat USC....ON THE ROAD; they need to beat Kentucky....ON THE ROAD; WORST OF ALL THESE TEAMS ARE FOAMING AT THE MOUTH TO KICK OUR TEETH IN!!!!

Need I say more?

I was wondering if you still stand by your statement that this team will not be in the NCAA TOURNEY come march??? According to bracketology we are currently a 6 seed, and with 2 games this week that if won could probably bump us up to around a 5 seed. I was just wondering if after the last 2 weeks or so you are still feeling the same that this team is NIT BOUND???

In my opinion, this team is what it is. They're not great and they're not terrible, they're just somewhere in the middle. A middle that isn't going to beat the top teams in the nation this year. At this point, I'll take the NCAA or the NIT just because it will give these young guys more chances to figure their game out and work on the little things. Other than that, I couldn't care less if the season ended tomorrow. Right now it feels like I want them to improve more than they want to improve and that's never good. I'm pleased with where Pearl has taken this program thus far and I'm not ready to throw him or the players under the bus, but they're just mediocre this year, it's that simple.

No TRUE fan EVER predicts doom and gloom for their team.

We'll probably get in as a 7 seed.

All depends on what goes down Saturday, and the road games at Florida and SC. Who I still believe will have more fight being at home, already losing to us, and the crowd to push them over.

Im not trying to be negative, just calling it like i see it.

I just get tired of people who throw names out there at you just for forming an opinion

I'll say this, even though this team is not playing well right now, at least we have not peaked this year yet like we did last year after Memphis. This team could very well win the SEC tourney, or they could loose first round and get a low seed in the NCAA tourney.

That's kinda been my thinking as well. Look at what Georgia did last year. They peaked at the right time, and got in the tourney. Albeit, that doesn't happen that often (a team like Georgia last year) but if this team can find some sort of chemistry on the road, which I think they lack, then they will finish strong.

But who knows......

It is kinda ironic that after last year's football team, we looked forward to men and women's basketball because we could count on them to work hard and give it all they have.

Now that the season is almost over, both teams have been a bust. Little effort, little heart.

It occurred to me that we would never ask Phil Fulmer to speak to the basketball teams to fire them up, but maybe we DO need Lane Kiffin and his coaches speak to our basketball teams.

Now isn't that real change!
