John Adams quote on Lady Vols game vs SC

"That tells me South Carolina will get Tennessee’s best shot – whatever that’s worth".

I say forfeit the game if those ladies are gonna go into the game believing that they literally don't stand a chance.....but that's my opinion. Plus the fact that a columnist up there on the HILl like John Adams knows what coming...hell forfeit the rest of the reg season then...I thought that anyone can be beat at anytime but thats not with what folks in Knoxville are believing.....

John Adams is a hack clickbait type writer. Does crappy journalism and shouldn't be in the position he's in. Absolutely horrendous writer.

Like anyone should give a damn about lifelong LSU fan John Adam's snotty opinion of Tennessee. Guy made an entire career out of moving to another team's state and writing negative articles about its college sports programs.

Why the News-Sentinel thought anyone would pay them money to read his constant vomit of anti-Tennessee columns is beyond me.

Well he was right. Our best effort and sc worst game, we still come up with a loss.

Oh I'm not disputing whether or not the guy's been right sometimes, I've just found it mystifying that such a caustic voice has been given a platform in Tennessee's home city for all these years.

I thought he was as dead as that newspaper.

I remember the days of going up for a game, walking down to the hotel lobby for breakfast and seeing copies of the paper in the lobby with plenty of coverage about UT and the game that day.
Sounds like it ain’t fit to line a kennel with now 🤷‍♂️

He lives in my neighborhood. He’s actually a really good guy but quieter than you’d expect and really funny. I like a lot of what he writes except when he makes a total column that’s supposed to be a joke. I don’t read the sports section for the cartoons. Speaking of which Bill Dyer was great… and played college ball (Daniel wasn’t nearly as good imo).

John A was in the post game presser last night, which he never lowers himself to do. Kellie was gracious to him, but I'm sure gritting her teeth. They were talking about the LVs intense focus last night and he asked her why that had been a problem before. She explained patiently and correctly that prolonged focus is something you learn and grow into.

Yeah, let's see you are a columnist covering a local college team. Therefore you ,"could care less," about that team making it to the CFP, the Final 4 or the College World Series where you would be on a national stage rather than a local one. Geez man...........

Do you actually read Adams? His whole game is as the local adversarial, an antedote to the slobbering, fawning rest of the local media. 90% of those who cover UT work for company who is completely beholding to the access UT grants them and so hit their knees regularly in order not to offend them. Adams loves the hate; he routinely runs letters from fans who loathe him.

Cora Hall who covers the LVs beat for the same paper, does a fantastic job of balancing straight up reporting with opinion columns which are honest and hard hitting, but without the bitterness and meanspiritedness Adams has developed.

I'm rooting hard for coach, but I don't believe we're committed to being elite in WBB. We're committed to being pretty good, but it's not a revenue sport, and I don't think the athletic department cares enough to make a change, which we obviously need. I wish we would stop hiring former lady vols just because they're lady vols. The Lady Vol Mafia is stupid though and gets in the way. We could have had Jeff Walz, went with Kellie instead. Just moronic. Heaven forbid someone with testicles coaches Pat's program. SMH.

Lol. Ok. It doesn’t really matter what you consider him to be. He is a columnist and has been a very successful one. I found them pretty funny and he’s been proven to be right quite often. Maybe he can write a column about how awesome the Lady Vols are doing, and win some of you all over.
