We're committed to being pretty good, but it's not a revenue sport, and I don't think the athletic department cares enough to make a change, which we obviously need. I wish we would stop hiring former lady vols just because they're lady vols. The Lady Vol Mafia is stupid though and gets in the way. We could have had Jeff Walz, went with Kellie instead. Just moronic. Heaven forbid someone with testicles coaches Pat's program. SMH.

It is possible that Adams is a low percentage blind hog level writer, but I doubt it. He led local sports print journalism on it’s downward trajectory to irrelevance.

He ignored the methods of guys like West, Byrd and Siler and paid the price in the annals of history. Snarky on steroids may work on a national level, but fair and honest in good times and bad is needed in local markets.

There is no fair and honest I've seen in local coverage of UT sports. Cora Hall is the closest we have. Never had anyone as smart and honest as she is. Other than her, It's either full on slobbereing to keep access or it's Adams. That's how Adams got started being Adams, and for a while it was refreshing.

Ben Byrd was the biggest shill that ever lived. He was actually on the UTAD payroll and hosted the Ray Mears TV show. Now thats an objective journalist if I ever saw one!

Siler was good but was a little too stuck on his own importance. Marvin was/is the best.

Exactly why I never pull for the Lady Vols. The LV Mafia is the Alabama fan base with 10 less NCs. Have all the respect in the world for LV coaches and players but the fan base turns me of completely.

A) look up his salary increase history, always after his name comes up with an open coaching seat. He has a good agent.
B) so you are good with student athletes being subjected to vulgarity by coaches? That says a lot about you. I want coaches that are professional and represent their university well. Vulgarity is a sign of a weak or lazy mind.
Mediocre may have been too strong. Not elite like some claim on here. He has been at Louisville since 2007 and has one nattie.
C) Actually I do have a problem with the baseball coach. I think he is a punk and his team acts just like him. Our next NCAA violations will be related to the baseball program.
Regarding the bullying we have discussed on here before his physically aggressive behavior towards his players. It does, I think, look worse when a 50 year old man points his finger into the face of a young woman while screaming at her.
Fair or not that looks a lot like domestic violence. A mature, self controlled male coach would get that and look for ways to emphasize his point without looking like he should be wearing a wife beater, holding a beer and about ready to backhand the woman.
All your hopes that the MBB would not hesitate to hire a woman are disingenuous. You know that will never happen in our lifetimes. That was an inconvenient fact so you just tried to dance around it with your hopes. So weak

Your odd conclusion that only a man will be able to lead the LVs back to prominence shows your bigotry. If you will actually read my post I said I would not have a problem with a male coach for the LVs sometime. More young women are playing basketball at a high level and are looking to go into coaching. Currently the collegiate MBB jobs are closed to them. There will be a lot more competition for the WBB positions so we’ll see.

No. You assumed that I think only a man could lead us back to prominence. I don’t. I just would like our next coaching search to not eliminate candidates based on whether they have something dangling or not. I’m perfectly fine with it being a woman, it likely will be, but we should stop the practice of only considering women. That’s all.

When Pat was alive, i prayed that she’d take our men’s job. For real. That’s not disingenuous. If she’s coached our guys, we’d have at least a couple final fours, probably a couple natties.
