John Adams quote on Lady Vols game vs SC

Lucy isn’t a fan of men. Never misses a moment to express her disdain for the male population either on the board or in coaching. Takes sidebar swipes at Barnes on the regular

Feminazi man haters suck. Feminism is a worthy movement and people like her bastardize it

Rush Limbaugh is dead and perhaps his idiotic phrase should also pass on too.

Let's be clear, Lucy is being called a "man hater" because she is not a fan of Jeff Walz (who I did not know represented all MEN) and she dislikes the inequity that men can be readily considered and hired for women's HC jobs at power 5 schools but no woman has been or likely will be a legit contender for an equivalent job on the men's side So, the playing field is not even. Men coaches have access to two job pools and women have only one. Interesting that Dawn Staley, a very successful black woman head coach, is the terrible bogeyman everyone wants to use as some kind of counterpoint.

No. You assumed that I think only a man could lead us back to prominence. I don’t. I just would like our next coaching search to not eliminate candidates based on whether they have something dangling or not. I’m perfectly fine with it being a woman, it likely will be, but we should stop the practice of only considering women. That’s all.

When Pat was alive, i prayed that she’d take our men’s job. For real. That’s not disingenuous. If she’s coached our guys, we’d have at least a couple final fours, probably a couple natties.

Also, i didn’t man-splain anything. You assumed I’m a man. That’s a ******** accusation. Do better.
You said the WBB program would only hire someone with a vagina and that is why we are now second rate. How does this not mean that you think the program needs a male coach??
And yes I firmly believe you are a man.
Great if you wanted Pat to take over the men’s program. How about now? Are you ready for a woman to be the head coach of MBB at UT?
As I stated before which evidently you have trouble comprehending I would not have a problem with a man coaching the Lady Vols someday. I have a big problem with men who whine that UT won’t consider a man to coach the Lady Vols but get the vapors when you point out that to be fair a woman should be an acceptable coach for the men’s team. If that description does not fit you then you should work on your writing skills and move on.
Finally , do better from you? SMH.

I’d take Kellie over Rick Barnes any day. He would be gone in a heartbeat if UCLA offered. No loyalty to a school that pulled him out of the trash can after he was fired at Texas.
Plus personally, he seems like a jerk to me.

I happily live on earth one and am entitled to my opinion that Rick Barnes is a jerk.
To be fair, those are her words. Didn’t even mention Walz. Not to mention her comments about drive by football fans…which could be women but I’ll side that she believes they are males.

Thanks for taking a shot at restating my points. Good grief this just doesn’t seem like a hard concept. There must be some decoder ring I need to use. English is not working.

Well, a lot posters on this board complain about drive-by-football fans who flame the Lady vol board after losses and then disappear.

But it seems that you believe that if someone is not favorable toward a group owing to a negative collective behavor and that group likely includes males, that makes one a "man hater."

Again, twisted logic (Why i even bother with these conversations.....). But if Lucy says, I dislike the Nazis, would you go, Lucy hates men because many Nazis were men?

See, that is focusing on the wrong trait.

Similarly, not being a fan of Barnes does not means she hates all men. I am not crazy about Charles Manson. Does that make me a manhater or someone who disapproves of mass murder?

Seriously, you can save yourself the trouble of spinning out some equally twisted counterlogic or digging up a post I made 14 years ago, on another topic, that you think is incriminating.

We can all imagine your response.

Nice twist. They are called fans and as stated before, a fan can come and go at anytime. They don’t need to check in daily to validate to Lucy or anyone for that matter. Be glad they are watching.

In regards to somehow tying Nazi’s to Lucy, I’d probably read with interest and wonder why she’s in the political forum as it’s not for the weak. And don’t be mad about receipts. Like I said, to be fair it was her words. I didn’t twist it move the goal post as you like to say.

If you firmly believe that I am a man, then you are firmly wrong. Pretty anti-feminist of you to misinterpret my opinion, get upset, and then suggest I’m a man just because I don’t agree with you. You should support my right as a woman to think for myself. (Again, do better.)

No, I don’t want a woman as a coach for the men right now, because Rick Barnes is a good coach. If Wade houston were our coach right now, though, and there was a qualified woman out there to replace him, I’d totally be on board. If Rick Barnes retires and Dawn Staley is interested, we’d be fools to not at least interview her.

What I implied is that merit should be the only qualification. I used men not being considered for the job as an example because that’s specific to the Lady Vol program. Your emotions led you to read, “women can’t cut it, we need a man in charge.” That’s BS on your part and has nothing to do with my writing skills. You assumed that I was a man and that I was being sexist, which is, ironically, sexist to assume.

Respond to what I say, not to what you think I might be insinuating. You’ll be wrong less often if you follow that advice.

No she’s being called a man hater because she saw my opinion that we shouldn’t use genitalia as a qualifier for coaching candidacy, twisted my opinion that into “wE mUsT hIrE sOmEoNe wItH bAllS” accused me of being a man when I’m not because she got triggered by something I didn’t say, and when I told her I was also a woman, she doubled down on her stance and continued to call me a man as if that’s some sort of insult.

If I use the word queer derogatorily, that’s homophobic. Would you prefer the term “man-phobic” instead of man hating?

Sorry for the use of feminazi, I’ll retire it.

my friend... I stated that we should discontinue the practice of only considering female candidates (because there are good candidates that are men AND women), and the following happened.

1. She incorrectly interpreted my statement as meaning “we need to hire a man because women can’t get the job done.”
2. She incorrectly assumed I’m a man.
3. she incorrectly assumed I would have e a problem with a woman coaching the men’s team.
4. I told her I’m a woman and she doubled down and said I was a man again, using it as an insult.
5. She insinuated I was stupid even after I explained that she was not understanding what I said.
6. I told her I wanted the most qualified candidate for all of our programs regardless of their gender, and said I’d be fine if the most qualified candidate for the MBB program we’re a woman, and she continued to suggest that I wouldnt want a woman coaching the men.

She’s being a misandrist, even though I’m a woman, by derogatorily continuing to suggest I’m a man and operating under that incorrect assumption.

That’s why she’s getting called a man-hater. It has nothing to do with Rick Barnes or Jeff walz.

Perhaps you should reread your post and see what it says as opposed to what you maybe think.
Your reading comprehension is that of a second grader. I don’t know how much more clearly I can say that I do not have a problem with a man coaching the Lady Vols and that there is no way MBB would hire a woman and that is where the rub is. You can hope all day long but it will not happen. How is hoping this inequity doesn’t exist as opposed to acknowledging the issue make you any sort of supporter of women. You do better!!

If you are singing hallelujah with Major you might want to read some of his early posts. Maybe he is your natural compatriot. Good luck with that.

I’ve now blocked you so respond if you want. I won’t be reading it.

Have you blocked me? Twice this week you’ve commented about my post while stating you’ve blocked me. And just now, another post of snide remarks/insult for having differing views to a different poster. By all means, keep believing you’re the good one and keep up the vitriol to those drive by football fans who watch women’s basketball.

And which earlier post offended you? What does Jon do or Kellie is in over her head? Won’t find one insulting a player or even a direct personal shot at a poster (out WC not being able to read a game clock).

We should hire whoever is most qualified and not consider their gender when deciding. We are currently a second rate program because imo we’ve missed on better candidates because we didn’t consider them because they were men. That is not to say that a male coach is automatically the solution, merely to say that eliminating men from candidacy lowers our odds of finding a good coach, because it shrinks the pool of top candidates. If you jump to the conclusion that saying that means I think we have to have a man as coach, the reading comprehension comments you’re making are just a projection of what you subconsciously know about yourself.

I’m on here merely talking about how to improve the WBB program that I care deeply about. I support women in that I want them to receive the best coaching possible, no matter what gender the coach is. You’re changing the subject to make it about gender inequality in the coaching profession, which can’t be solved on volnation, so you’re really only virtue signaling… you’re being combative, name-calling, getting emotional, and now playing the victim… all because of your poor interpretation of what I said, even though I’ve now clarified what you got confused about to begin with and have explicitly told you that you misunderstood.

I don’t know majors, I don’t know what it means to figuratively sing hallelujah with a message board poster, but you’re the one coming off as sexist here.

I just wish we could discuss why the LV mafia insists on hiring only women without you pushing your agenda. Maybe now that you’ve played the victim card and blocked me, the rest of us can discuss basketball instead gender politics.

It make me chuckle knowing you’re still reading this 😂

It’s wild. I have 11 different posters in my inbox telling how she’s attacked them for their opinions and it’s always the same condescending, misandrist tone, apparently.. Rather than calling them feminazis, which I’ve chosen to refrain from using (shout out to @madtownvol), maybe the term should be toxic feminists… the ones that are abrasive and insulting toward men and speak with disdain in their voice any time masculinity is mentioned… while hiding behind a facade of fighting for women’s rights. It’s sad because it’s detrimental to the true feminist movement, which about equality, and men and women cooperating to achieve that… at the end of the day, her behavior is rooted in bigotry, while she’s purports to be a warrior for social justice. Lol.

Well said. She gaslights often and has no issue throwing insults to those who differ to excite the few likeminded. I have no issue with someone not agreeing with me, I don’t take it personal. Felt a few days ago it was fitting to call her out on the carpet for what I’ve seen for awhile and others now have.

I don't hold the women of my generation in contempt as it is a generational thing, Rocky

The women of my/our era (they who grew up in the 60's-70's) were so intent on equality, that they overdid it and alienated the men of my/that era. . . They weren't taught "being equal to a man was equality", instead they were taught "ruling over them and putting them in their place,,was equality".

That teaching/learning killed marriage and relationships for a whole generation.

I am so proud of my daughter as her generation seems to once again value the uniqueness of a one-lifetime-marriage...Even though she has a master's degree in her field, she is truly happy being a mom and a wife. And her husband, one I am proud to call son-in-law is living the life I was robbed of. . . Yet, I am proud for him. For if he gets to have what my mom and dad had,,,he will have more than half a decade of wonderful memories and a lifelong partner to share them with.

What I was robbed of, they are blessed with,,,and I am truly glad for them

Yeah, I get supporting LGBTQ rights but your rights end where another’s begin. This is infringing on the rights of us women. I don’t want to compete in basketball (or any sport) against someone who is physically a man. I’m gonna lose. I want to compete against people who were born the same sex as me.
