Howdy Vols. I'm looking forward to our Sept 21 game in Norman. I'm planning on watching it via television -- but I'm sure the game will have a great atmosphere for anyone attending in person. It should be a real dog fight. I'm sure Heupel will be warmly received -- he's still very remembered and loved by Sooner faithful.

Good luck to the Vols in every game except the one in Norman!

Welcome! I'm expecting a dogfight on Sept 21st! It'll be our young QB's first real road test and the Norman crowd will be good and lathered up for that first home SEC game. Personally I have it penciled in as a loss but hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Again, welcome to the forum and to the SEC!

........forecast of a Tennessee beatdown is 87% chance. (Good news is most of us are already tired of Texas and their fans......and the season hasn't even started. Enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of deal........)

Nathan05 -- I hear you. Longhorns are typically so arrogant that you find yourself rooting against them no matter who they play!

I'm a little surprised that the Longhorns are getting so much pre-season love considering how many starters they lost after last year. It's interesting that they're picked to do so much better than OU given the fact that we beat them last year.

I think they're just one of those teams that get over-hyped every year, like USC or Notre Dame.

It's too bad that the web has become so monetized. You see lots of articles that you're left wondering how much of ithe article accurately portrayed the author's viewpoint, and how much of it was designed to get clicks from some large fan base. Sigh.

I was in Norman for the 2014 game and plan to attend again this year. In 2014, the fans were welcoming, and we had a great time. Not sure the reception will be the same since we are in the same conference now.

Ticketing question for you.
As a member of the Big12, how many tickets did you give to the visiting teams to sell ?
Do you know, as now a member of the SEC, if that number changes and how many Tennessee will get?

You will find that we have our own version of Texas in the SEC.
Their name starts with Ala and ends with Bama.
You will learn that our conference office and the officials and those that supervise “close calls” in games are located in Birmingham.
You will learn that Bama does not hold. Therefore, they are never called for holding.
You will learn to hate Bama and their moronic fanbase just as much as you hate Texas.

I think the 2024 Sooners are going to be a strong team. OU's QB (Jackson Arnold) has some similarities to Tennessee's QB -- young but with an extremely high ceiling.

Welcome. Hope you have a great year except against VOLS.

Couple of Notes.

You can reply to someone directly via Reply which includes their quote.

You can note someone in your reply by using @ before their name.

Most importantly anything in blue font is total sarcasm and do not take personally…..

In that spirit in honor of Oklahoma joining, Go anyone who can beat UGA, Alabama & TEXAS!!!

On the other hand the one thing UT and the other less cool ut can agree on is screw the crimson team...

They also got a really favorable SEC schedule. They play Georgia and Oklahoma, but that’s it. No Alabama, no Tennessee, no Ole Miss, no Missouri.

Basically, if they split with UGA and OU, they’re probably in Atlanta.

Just imagine though if the Vols played Texas in Atlanta. The ticket prices would be astronomical.

I'll be interested in getting your reflection on these two thoughts ('24 Oklahoma a strong team ... Arnold and Nico similar, extremely high ceilings) after the game.

Welcome to the boards.

Go Vols!

I’m sure it’ll be a great game! I like Oklahoma, y’all have a class program and great fans. Y’all are going to absolutely hate our refs in the SEC, they’re garbage unless you like the row tiders.
