Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Maybe she is. But she hasn’t proven that yet in the league.

Clark 32.7%

- Collier 31.6%
- Copper 33.3%
- Gray 24% (only played in 11 games this year recovering from injury), career 38.2%
- Sabrina 34.5%
- Loyd 25.8%, career 35%
- Plum 37.4%
- Stewart 22.9%, career 35.4%
- Taurasi 35.5%
- A’ja 38.9%
- Young 34.1%, career 39.3%

Caitlin also has the 2nd highest TO % in the league at 27.1%
Eh, I believe Caitlin would've have averaged more than 0.7 ppg and 1 rpg that Taurasi did during this Olympics.

Part of her turnover issues are her teammates not being very good.

Just watching her this year and watching the women's team.

There is no question beyond a shadow of a doubt she should be PG for the Olympic team. Just as someone who loves basketball and has eyeballs.
How so many of you have seen enough WNBA to argue about this is beyond my comprehension.

Well, now the IOC is taking medals away from the US on "technicalities". When we do tie China for the most golds, some random gold medal we won will be stripped from our athlete because they or their coach didn't follow some random arbitrary unenforceable rule and will give the US gold to some other athlete as a display that they are in charge and we better just listen.
IOC acting like NCAA. They should go away too.

The Gaston Moore discussion is fun. I thought he looked better than Nico in the spring game. I attributed it to him going up against the 2s and 3s while Nico was against the 1s, but even at that, it was clear he could run the offense. I doubt he would start, but I have no doubt that we'll be fine if Nico goes down at some point.

I feel the same way. Gaston is a very solid QB and we are lucky to have him backing up Nico. Gaston would start at most G5 programs imo.

I’d disagree only bc she would have barely played.

Another tidbit about those TO’s that I would assume will improve with time is she already holds the WNBA record for turnovers by 8 (145 total) with 14 games left in the season.

We will see what she does after this extended break.

She also makes a lot of bad passes.

Makes great passes, but also bad ones. She did it in college, too.

She’s amazing. Def not an efficient player tho as of now

Like I said, I enjoy watching her play more than anyone else.

But data does matter. Turnovers are a huge thing. She’s 69th in the league in assist-turnover ratio (to support her having the 2nd highest turnover % in the league).

By the next Olympics, hell by next year, I would expect that her 3PT shooting % and A-T ratio are greatly improved and there will be zero question on whether or not she deserves to be on the team. Just bad timing with her first year in league being Olympic year. She’s had less time to prove herself.
There’s also been a ton of her turnovers actually be her teammates fault. Similar to dropped passes in football

She got a little Brett Favre in her. Risk taker but absolutely great player who is fun to watch.

She had turnover issues in college too.

I absolutely think she will become one of the best WNBA players in the long run but it was 50-50 that she'd make this team. And the biggest reason they'd have included her is just for the attention. She would've only played in blowouts.

And a ton her fault as well. She’s awesome. She’s not perfect tho. And currently not an efficient player

Yeah I believe she’s gonna be one of the best to ever do it in the WNBA.

A+ for the Favre comparison. Super exciting to watch. Some questionable/riskier plays but come away mesmerized by the skill and can’t wait to see more.
