I never claimed she was a female Curry but she's a better shooter than many on that team.
But does she take shots at the right time? Does she mesh with the team? Does she play defense? She's a good shooter, but she's not a shoe in for a spot, she's not that good of a shooter.
Yeah, she sux.Maybe she is. But she hasn’t proven that yet in the league.
Clark 32.7%
- Collier 31.6%
- Copper 33.3%
- Gray 24% (only played in 11 games this year recovering from injury), career 38.2%
- Sabrina 34.5%
- Loyd 25.8%, career 35%
- Plum 37.4%
- Stewart 22.9%, career 35.4%
- Taurasi 35.5%
- A’ja 38.9%
- Young 34.1%, career 39.3%
Caitlin also has the 2nd highest TO % in the league at 27.1%
Data doesn't always paint the picture. Why even play the game just use a computer to determine the outcome using data.I’m a big Caitlin fan.
But also she hasn’t proven through actual data that she’s a better shooter in the league than the women that made the team. And she turns the ball over a lot.
She’s still my fav women’s player to watch play.

Go watch her highlights from the WNBA Allstar game. She's not just a shooter. Also, the stats are relatively skewed by a small data set. I would have taken her over a few of the players that made that team.Like I said, I enjoy watching her play more than anyone else.
But data does matter. Turnovers are a huge thing. She’s 69th in the league in assist-turnover ratio (to support her having the 2nd highest turnover % in the league).
By the next Olympics, hell by next year, I would expect that her 3PT shooting % and A-T ratio are greatly improved and there will be zero question on whether or not she deserves to be on the team. Just bad timing with her first year in league being Olympic year. She’s had less time to prove herself.
Fair, but I don't know any actual WNBA folks that thinks she's a top 12 type player as a mere rookie. That would be a nuts accomplishment.Data doesn't always paint the picture. Why even play the game just use a computer to determine the outcome using data.
