Maybe in my old age of late 30s I'm just getting grumpy, but I cannot imagine the audacity of "demanding" a NIL of $1.5 million when you haven't even WON anything in college yet. It's all about the money. I am not sure if this says, 'I am a team player' or 'I am going to be the star so step back girls on the team'. I know Juju came in and survived but it doesn't always work out. I think she will be a distraction for us, so I am hoping she doesn't pick us. Someone will come up with it or be close.
According to On3, Chavez is COMMANDING a financial package valued at $1.5 million. The report also adds that she is favoring the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns ahead of fellow finalists South Carolina, Texas Tech and UCLA, and will make her final decision on Tuesday, March 25.

It would be foolish to pay this, IMO. What if she gets injured and has to sit out a season -- or more? What if doesn't even up being the greatest thing since sliced bread? No offense to this young lady and I wish her the best of luck with her collegiate career, but let's be realistic here. Prove yourself first. Then you can ask for all the $ and more.
Current logo:Well actually.
For sports, USC always has been and always will be USC. S. Carolina is S. Carolina.
But, for the institutions themselves. I guess, call it what you will. However, S. Carolina did not form as USC in 1801. It was South Carolina College. So if they want the SCC abbreviation, it's all theirs. It bounced around between "South Carolina College", "University of South Carolina", and "South Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanics" and closing down completely for a couple years in there, until finally in 1906 if finally settled on "University of South Carolina".
USC started as USC in 1880. And still is.
No apology necessary, compare their results, you were right. Since the 2016-17 season, there have been 7 NCAA National Championship tournaments, one was cancelled due to covid. Four Coaches won the 7 Championships, Dawn Staley 3, Kim Mulkey 2 (one at Baylor, one at LSU), Tara VanDevere 1, and Muffet McGraw 1. Kellie Harper has beaten 3 of those 4 Coaches.I sincerely apologize for thinking Kellie was the better choice over Kara for Lady Vols HC all those years ago.
Duke proved it really is smarter.
Congrats Kara on the ACC Tourney Title. An old school clampdown!
How much $ do you think Strong got paid last season when signing with Uconn?Maybe in my old age of late 30s I'm just getting grumpy, but I cannot imagine the audacity of "demanding" a NIL of $1.5 million when you haven't even WON anything in college yet.

I wouldn't be to excited if the AD said he would be ok with someone that could finish in the top to the middle of the league and make the NCAA. I guess he is just facing reality with Missouri in women's basketball, but still not something I would like to hear.Looked up Jeff Mittieās resume. The Missouri AD is from Kansas, and has ties there. Mittie is almost 59. In his 11 seasons at Kansas State, he only had 5 winning seasons in Conference. If I were a MO fan, donāt think Iād be too excited about that.
So they're lying about it, huh? Not only do they lie about being USC, they lie about when they became "USC". Figures. What you'd expect from their kind.
Exactly...Kara would have been under the same expectations and pressure as Kellie was under. It's misleading to think she would not have suffered the same fate. The advantage that Caldwell has is she doesn't have the "alumni" pressure that Kellie and Holly had. That is a very real thing and probably would have affected Kara also. Things have worked out for the moment for both.No apology necessary, compare their results, you were right. To compare Conference results:
Kara Lawson:
2020-21: cancelled Conference season due to covid
2021-22: Finished 10th in Conference, did not make NCAA Tournament
2022-23: Tied for 2nd in Conference, 2nd round in NCAAT
2023-24: Tied for 7th in Conference, Sweet 16
2024-25: 3rd in Conference
Kellie Harper:
2019-20: Tied for 3rd in Conference, NCAAT cancelled due to covid
2020-21: 3rd in Conference, 2nd round in NCAAT
2021-22: 3rd in Conference, Sweet 16
2022-23: 3rd in Conference, Sweet 16
2023-24: Tied for 4th in Conference, 2nd round in NCAAT
The last 3 NCAA Championships were won by a team in the SEC, teams Kellie played every year.
I am fairly confident Kara would have recruited very well at UT. She has recruited extremely well at Duke, an easy school to sell the academic side of student athlete, but Duke has not traditionally had the same resources or basketball ācacheā in WBB that UT has, let alone the tradition.Exactly...Kara would have been under the same expectations and pressure as Kellie was under. Holly had several great classes and even a No.1 class. How did that work out? This is about feeling the freedom to set your own course as opposed to following what "Pat" did or would have done. It's the internal pressure from being an alumni who played for Pat and the outside pressure of the fan base. That doesn't happen to Kara at Duke...it would have at Tennessee. It's apples and oranges....(with the orange being Tennessee...lol)...I am fairly confident Kara would have recruited very well at UT. I did look it up, that's why I showed you, you were wrong. It was founded in 1801 as "SCC". Use that if you want to talk 1801. Otherwise, you're lying.1801 is the year we were founded and it's the third oldest state university in our country. UGa and NC were the first depending on the criteria. Look it up. What are you some kind of SoCal fan boy?
