Will admit I do not keep up with basketball recruiting and the portal as much as football.

Under Barnes, will UT be mainly a portal team? Checked 247 and hated seeing Arkansas and Kentucky getting major high school talent while UT was in the 40s.

We’re pretty definitively in the twilight of Barnes’ career and going portal heavy is probably the best way to consistently field competitive rosters.

The problem is if you have a player who can demand $2 million on the market you probably have to find $2 million to get them to stay.

I was surprised they sat him so long in the second half. I didn’t think we could stop him and he made some nice plays on defense.

Look no further than DJ Burns. Guy was 500 pounds and was able to play.

If he can play, the 7'3 guy can too

BYU in the sweet 16 and probably has one of biggest budgets NIL wise.

I think they got “out systemed”. Barnes has developed a core leadership style for this program that is carrying season to season. Our team is better than the sum of the individual players. Having 4 year leaders like Z & Shack has become the exception in this portal era and is an advantage for us.

They seem to have really gotten better since NIL

Those Mormons have tons of boosters and spending money I guess

I think they got “out systemed”. Barnes has developed a core leadership style for this program that is carrying season to season. Our team is better than the sum of the individual players. Having 4 year leaders like Z & Shack has become the exception in this portal era and is an advantage for us.

NO! If he hasn’t shown anything in all the years he has been playing, then pass on him. The Dude is like Perry Ellis with a moving van. One more year and he will be eligible for Social Security.
