It puts them in an awkward situation, and Heup with his relationship with them, one supposes. How could Knowles, Poindexter and Jackson not have any incling that this could happen with Chaz? This is a failure across the board if he doesn't come play. Ridiculous.
You can rest assured he’s getting all the help he could need. We’re not going to not support a 3 million dollar investment. It puts them in an awkward situation, and Heup with his relationship with them, one supposes.
I do think that we really don’t know that he is not getting needed help at present. We do know he made a stupid social media post in the midst of all the “hate” he was getting. But that doesn’t mean that there s not a real problem.
I saw an Ohio State podcaster the other day calling out their own fan base for bragging that Coleman s faking and that they dodged a bullet, reminding them of the case of Henry Miller at OSU a few years back.
Everyone wants to be the first and loudest to have called him out.
I think Coleman is getting help. The Henry Miller kid at OSU a few years ago that I mentioned earlier was suicidal and he did retire from football. I don’t suspect that it’s a case that severe, but we don’t really know what’s going on. People are screaming at Heupel as if Heupel doesn’t know about Nico and Boo. He remembers better than anyone. The plot thickens. Grumors are about to take hold.
Long story short:
if he’s still having vertigo from a concussion almost a year ago, he needs to medically retire from football and THAT should have been known/discovered before signing him or invalidate his contract if he covered it up through the contract negotiation process.
Otherwise kid needs to get help, get focused, and get his ass in the gym and on the field and earn that fatass paycheck he’s so proud of.
Not even sure how he got such a huge contract. He didnt really do much as a freshman, just looking at his stats. The plot thickens. Grumors are about to take hold.

Tech has won the PR battle from this due to the SEC hate, but I agree with Sark. He never said Tech was bad, just their schedule was junk - and it 100% is. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t go undefeated with that schedule. Yet Tech is asking Texas to play the SEC 9 game schedule, Ohio State, Tech, one cupcake, and one bye week. Who in their right mind would do that? Even if Texas would win by multiple scores. Sark saw last year that a tough OOC doesn’t help you make the playoffs. Sankey sucksSark about to look like the biggest baby back b on the planet

Bluechip Breakdown had a good video on it. Copied this from his video.

Sacks are a lot of luck and happenstance. But had elite metrics.
-War RoomThe story of Tennessee football as the Vols returned to campus was the lack of return of Chaz Coleman to campus.
Head coach Josh Heupel continues to say publicly that the Vols are supporting Coleman. But there doesn’t appear to be any real conversations happening at this point, which makes it difficult to see a Tennessee-Coleman marriage this fall.
You never say never until something is final and there’s no clear timetable on anything being final. But the reality is that Coleman hasn’t done any football activity with the Vols since the first week of spring practice. And to be a part he has to not only show up in town but he would have to consistently work out with his team, which given the last few months seems highly unlikely.
For the players in the program, there’s no focus on Coleman given he hasn’t been a part of things and he’s not a proven player having only played 150 snaps last year. The only thing that would affect the ecosystem of this team would be if he shows back up. The fact is they haven’t viewed him as a teammate in a while. The focus for the team is on continuing to build on what they got done in the weight room this spring. Some got started early in their returning getting a workout in Monday morning on Memorial Day. Everyone was back for Tuesday’s work in what is a daily grind.
Heupel likes to say there’s no time to be young in this league and for Jim Knowles defense, the development of first and second year players on the defensive line is paramount. Tennessee seems to have some answers in the secondary and depth at linebacker. They have bodies on the defensive line, but for the most part they are young and the development of that group this summer under strength coach Derek Owings and the watchful eye of Rodney Garner is paramount to Tennessee’s goals this fall. That group has to grow up fast and those with experience like Daevin Hobbs and Nathan Robinson have to stay healthy.
As for the quarterbacks, both spent some away time recharging their batteries and throwing some with their personal coaches that they have worked with for years. Now it’s about going and trying to win the job. The job won’t be settled until after the second scrimmage of fall camp, but the competition is on.
Obviously coaches can spent more time in the summer with players and Tennessee’s staff will do that some this month as they work around recruiting visits and camps. But with the last week of June and the whole month of July dead in recruiting and fall camp not opening till around August 5, there will be plenty of days for the coaches to work with their position groups. Tennessee players will have time off around the July 4th holiday.
It appears little got done in Destin at SEC Spring Meetings. There certainly is no clarity on the College Football Playoffs. As one person said to us this week, the best way to describe that is simply a mess. Commissioner Greg Sankey said it would be the fall before the SEC has a decision. December 1 is the deadline for a decision.
It does seem like the 5-for-5 eligibility rule is likely to go into effect. If it does, it won’t until August or September and no one will be grandfathered in.
There is also some talk about adjusting the recruiting calendar a bit. One possibility is to make the last week of May a dead period meaning the first three weeks of June would be your big official visit and event weekends to go with camps. There is also some talk about limiting contact in the month of December as well. But the calendar adjustments are a ways away being official.
