'11 GA S Avery Walls

Dude, hold up now. Our group of players are very solid. Don't judge just by stars. We are filling needs with quality players. It is common knowledge around here that Walls was very high on TN till we backed off. Rumor was that he was gonna commit around the Oregon game.

And I wouldn't open my mouth about history with Oregon right now. They've handled everyone this year.

i'd think you'd rather fill needs with elite players rather than quality ones right? it was also common knowledge here that about 30 other 4 or 5 star guys were high on UT and never commited. you guys aren't exactly known for your evenhanded aproach to things.

oregon is a flash in the pan. this is exhibit z. they'll never recruit well enough to be a national power. best year in history and they still can't beat out a 5-7 cal team for recruits.

that desean jackson guy is not a safety who will have to deal with Alshon Jeffrey, also Desean has blazing speed where Walls does not

there are plenty of nfl undersized safties that hit hard like walls. if he had comitted to UT you guys would be all over him just like you are these 3 star guys you got.

They've shown that they can get everything out of their talent though, and as they get better the elite names will start looking at Oregon closely, and we should all hope Oregon does not get elite talent the way Bama does.

it's not a coincidence the only time they've done anything was the year when every major power was done. they'll never get elite talent. eugene will always be in the middle of nowhere. that will never change. they are always in on a bunch of top guys but rarely land them.

Just getting to a championship is already putting them in with a ton of players we haven't expected, like Dawson.

If they can replicate that success, I think they will manage to win out on some more elite talent

Explain: I would rather be undefeated, headed into the National Title Game; then 5-7 with my ass at home. If that means losing players to Cal and Usc every year that are rated higher so be it.

of course it will help, but they'll never regurally have top 10 recruiting classes. they're depth has always sucked and will continue to suck. only so many kids are willing to go to the middle of nowhere just for flashy uniforms and xboxes.

I'm seeing Cal one spot above TN in the current Rivals ranking. You guys are tearing it up in recruiting. Congratulations. Your 5-7 season really shows great progress. We are bowling after 3 coaches in 3 years, starting freshmen all over the place and not having the benefit of being able to pluck 4*s from our backyard. What is Cal's excuse for their failure?

right. recruiting doesn't matter. keep telling yourself that. this is a fluke. wake up.

our coach sucks. you have tradition. you should never be lagging behind us. and i'd be willing to bet you have as many 4* guys within easy driving distance as cal does.

Recruiting does matter, I believe in it 100% but I also believe it takes more than talent to make teams great. Player and coach relationships, along with players that believe in your program lead to titles. Not 10 5* players every year. Florida prime example.

me thinks florida will be just fine.

Highly disagree. Most intelligent people around here stand by the decisions of the staff. I just laugh at the people that stand behind the likes of Power and Parker when they were clearly not good enough. Thus, they were asked to look elsewhere (when you'll be able to find the hypocrits).

I'm still questionable over the Carson take, but like I've said before, his stats speak for themselves. We're not really in the position to be able to pick and choose the cream of the crop. Recruits understand the situation here. Not hard to see 3 coaches in 3 years, NCAA investigations, and a rebuilding program. I'll take qualities players if they make an impact in the long-run.

i think the common misconception here seem to be that dooley wanted these 3 star guys over other people. rather than that being the best he can get. don't feel bad. every fanbase believes this garbage. everytime cal gets a 2 or 3 star people there tell us how underated they are.

We all understand that, and the coaching staff is kicking themselves for taking all these commitments so early.

We have legit interest from some of the best players in the South, we're just gonna run out of room eventually.
