Every kid has the option to have his moment and enjoy the recruiting process. He just has to know with that comes the chance of losing a spot. I think Truitt could speak to that a little. If the "insiders" think the twins are Vol locks, they don't have time to go to camps, have already taken many visits in the past to several schools, and the Vols are recruiting them the hardest. Yes, I think they need to just go ahead and make it official. :)

When the decision is made, EB14 takes a deep breath and smiles as he starts to hum Rocky Top.

I think it says something about our coach when we are recruiting them the hardest while they do not appear to be actively pursuing any schools and are legacies, who aren't in a hurry to commit. Maybe one has to do with the others. But, we have a coach who is relentless and will not take anything for granted.

I know it frustrates some with them not jumping on board yet, but these two are takes all day. Their brother is one of the all time greats, and he will always be loved at our school. They also have plenty of talent to succeed at the next level.

Why would you not care what the Berry boys do? I don't get this? With all that Butch has done to bring back former players and a family atmosphere, we need these kids. It makes a statement for our program. And they are Berrys...they can play.

Great post!! I think some have gotten frustrated with them because of their fairly quite recruiting and think they should have already shut it down and jumped on board...I agree with everything you said

Agreed. Bates is much more important in the overall scheme of things. As far as the Berry's go if they commit I will be happy if not, no big deal. They are nowhere near Eric's level. We need Bates badly.

I understand we need Bates more but you can't compare them to Eric necessarily. There are not many kids on Eric's level anywhere. However, if we did sign the Berrys, Evan would be the fastest kid in our class and we do need speed.

The Berry twins are really good players. However, signing them, Bates, TKJ, Creamer, Wharton, etc. is symbolic in that it is a statement that the Butcher will not let "our own" get away.

See, this I don't understand. We get a little momentum in recruiting and suddenly these dudes don't matter. nevermind we just sucked the past few years. These dudes aren't on our level.

So what they might not be as good as Eric, Dillon might not be as good as Bill. And Bill was not as good as Eric. If they can be as good as James Berry they'll damn well be worth the scholarships.

Don't get me wrong I would love to have the Berry's but its like because of their last name, vol fans think they are going to otherworldly. I just think Bates is more of a need for our defense.

I think it's really weird that they aren't taking many (any?) real visits, and everybody assumes they're UT locks, but they won't even name us the leader. Is that normal?
