Evan Berry admitted Tennessee is a little bit ahead of the other teams recruiting him, and the Vols probably could be considered his leader, but he stressed that he's still wide open. He and his brother haven't visited a lot of schools, and they're hoping to get to several places this summer. No timetable for a decision, but he and Elliott both said they're planning to be a package deal. They said they can't imagine going to different schools.
Evan said he wants to play wide receiver in college, and he recently has talked with Tennessee and other teams about playing there. He said he just wants the ball in his hands, and the Vols are open to that. He also said Ohio State recently has offered him and is discussing using him in a Percy Harvin-type role, although Elliott said he doesn't have an offer from Ohio State.
Vols running backs coach Robert Gillespie stopped at Creekside today to check on the Berrys.
