Dews and E Mosley aren't "projects"
Far from it...both players were offered after evaluations in camp by Butch and staff
I agree with ajvol. These two players are not projects. CBJ knows what he is doing and do not sale committed Vols short. Yes you are Brave just not so smart. Ratings mean nothing at this point and both will grade out higher in the services in the end.
Simple question then, why are they rated as 2 star athletes? Not saying stars mean everything but come on, they count for something. There has to be SOME reason why these guys aren't rated any higher. I could see them maxing out at maybe a low 3 star but it's not like they're going to shock the world and blow up to a 4 or 5 star by the end of the season.

Stars come from camping. If players don't camp then they are not rated high. For example, see Gaulden.
So you're telling me that a player's in-game performance evaluation is not factored in AT ALL when these sites do their rankings? I find that very hard to believe. Showing out in camp is nice and all but for my money it's what these kids do under the lights that matter most.
Level of play and competition does count. Maryland is not Tenn for example...
So if you're a spot shy and Adoree Jackson wants to come to UT, you don't think CBJ tells Mosley to look around? (Not saying that will happen, just a hypothetical).
Do we even know the extent of Paulk's knee injury? I know everyone thinks that it is ACL, but do we know for sure? His surgery was successful, and he could use a medical red shirt next year. I don't think Paulk will be asked to gray shirt.
We don't know the full extent of the conversations nor do we know the conditions of the commitment between CBJ these players and Staff. What we do know is that this commitments were worthy of a seat on the train and if I am confident that scenarios have been forecasted and told to these players regarding their status as future Vols.
CBJ and staff will stand by their word and honor any scenario that the told these players.
Mosley is playing lights out this year and Dews is too. The coaches know what they need and they are not handing out scholarships like candy. It's kids like these that you look at down the road and state where did he come from.
Unless someone lays eyes on them it's hard to evaluate. Hard numbers and camps seem to be the norm. I am sure they meet the standards. If they didn't they would never receive an offer.
I am beginning to think that the number we focus on is 85 vs 30 or 31.
Conspiracy Theory: Butch told the twins to hold off for a late signing day commitment. The last commitment/signings. The cherries on top of the class, because he knows the fans have been waiting for these for years.
You're right, we won't be. It makes no sense to. This one would be a medical redshirt and he would still have a regular redshirt if needed.
Just to help you out, or anyone else that may be having a little trouble understanding college recruiting. And I'm not giving this information from a fans perspective. College coaches & programs could care less about the recruiting sites. 91% of college football programs have there own star rating or evaluating system. So what I'm saying is that, on their board Moseley may in fact be a high 4 star. Dews may in fact be a 4 star(which is how I see it). Unless you are a part of that staff you have no idea what that staff sees our believes in a potential prospect. And don't forget the #1 player taken in this years NFL draft was not on any major college radar, but Butch Jones had him as a 5 star when he recruited him. That's just a little insight into our world.Simple question then, why are they rated as 2 star athletes? Not saying stars mean everything but come on, they count for something. I think this is an accurate theory.
There's a video on VQ from yesterday where Austin Price and Fortenberry are discussing recruits and the Berry's came up. Austin said he asked them at the UGA game when they were going to commit and they said not anytime soon. Austin said he feels like they want to be the last two commits this class but that he sees no way they aren't Vols.
And I've said it a few times I think Butch wants them to commit last as the final stamp on the Rise To The Top Legacy Class.
