A power forward in the class of 2020 with an impressive combination of physicality and skill is
P.J. Hall. The native of South Carolina has impressed with Upward Stars this spring, and new schools continue to enter the mix in his recruitment.
About the spring, the 6-foot-9 Hall said, “Throughout the spring I feel that I have been shooting pretty well. I have been working to expand my game a lot. I am trying to improve on my guard skills, with my ball handling, seeing the floor, and I am always working on my shooting.”
Currently Hall sits as the No. 65 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite Ranking, and Hall says his recruitment is very busy right now.
“Tennessee, Florida, Clemson, South Carolina, Maryland, Ohio State, and a lot of ACC and SEC schools,” said Hal of who is recruiting him.
One school that has made a significant impression on Hall is Tennessee.
About the Volunteers, Hall said, “I love it up there. I love Coach (Rick) Barnes, he is a great guy and a great coach. They always tell me how they would develop my game. They wouldn’t keep me in a box. They would let me expand on what I already have.”
Also, the two in-state programs, Clemson and South Carolina, have made it clear to Hall that he is a major priority.
When it comes to Clemson, Hall said, “It is about 45 minutes from my house, and their sell to me is on being a hometown hero. A lot of players are leaving the state, and they are telling me what it would mean for my lifetime if I stayed in state.”
South Carolina, like Clemson, is looking to keep Hall in-state, and the Gamecocks style of play is something that really appeals to Hall.
“They play through the post, and really feed it down low,” said Hall. “They would pound the ball inside to
Chris Silva the past few seasons. They play around the big man, which is something I like.”
One school that has picked things up recently is Ohio State. The Buckeyes are looking to add interior help in this class, and Hall is someone they plan to monitor closely this summer.
“Right now, Coach (Ryan) Pedon is recruiting me because Coach (Mike) Schrage left for the Elon job,” said Hall. “It is a new school that has come in contact, and they said they would be picking it up with me.”
Currently, Hall says that he has no specific plans to make any official visits. He does however plan to go on visits and see as many schools as he can before issuing his commitment.
