-VQBarnes and his assistants also watched South Carolina P.J. Hall play twice on Thursday and Hall told me after the fact that he definitely noticed the effort. He also told me that he will definitely make an official visit to Knoxville in the fall. My guess right now is that this one comes down to a Tennessee/Florida battle.
Corey Walker Jr. ring a bell?Barnes hasn’t beaten Florida for a recruit since he’s been here that I recall
I don't really consider Tre Mann a loss, either. We got Josiah, and that's a swap I think any Vol fan is happy with. Not sure both were going to come here.Corey Walker Jr. ring a bell?
Other than him, Tre Mann and Chase Johnson are the only 2 freshmen I can think of that Tennessee truly pushed for in Barnes' four seasons as coach and lost to Florida. Then the Blackshear transfer.
No, I agree, and have mentioned that very thing on here. It does have to be considered a head-to-head loss, though, because we pushed for Mann and would have taken his commitment before James made his decision.I don't really consider Tre Mann a loss, either. The final full day of the lone travel live period brought a slew of coaches to the Hoover Metroplex for the adidas Summer Championship. The very best sponsored by the three stripes brand were on display as we take a deep dive into which coaches saw which of their top targets on Saturday in Alabama.
-EvansProduction is what PJ Hall is all about. The blue collared workhorse with the Upward Stars program has already taken official visits to Clemson and Florida. The Tigers had an assistant at his game but the Gators brought their entire staff led by Mike White. Head coaches from Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Virginia were also on hand, as were assistant coaches from Pitt, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
