‘21 GA PF Jabari Smith (Auburn commit)

That will be an interesting aspect, all the guys around the country who are seniors will essentially have another year to play, and will have graduated. So the market will likely be bigger than just your normal graduate transfers, it essentially could be every senior in the country (obviously not every one of them will opt for another year).
Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

This is exactly why I hate the grad transfer deal. The program that recruits and develops players like this deserve the loyalty of keeping them and not have recruiting feelers being sent out that other high profile programs are hunting.

That's life though. Happens all of the time when people train or develop for a specific position or job and then get offered by a company that is one of the best in the field. You reward the individual who develops and gets better.

If it was grounds for firing, why did dumbass Hamilton give him a buyout?

When he took the buyout, he would have been required to sign a waiver not to bring any suit against the university. You avoid any litigation and a possible drawn out battle. That was the least of Hamilton's issues while being AD.

This really sucks... Barnes needs to start recruiting front court players better. It doesn't really make sense why none of the elites want to come here. Oh, well... we will be loaded in the backcourt, at least.

I think ON makes a big jump, this year. If I'm wrong, Anosike can handle most of the dirty work, along with Fulk and Pons. I really hope Pons improves his rebounding and I expect him to, also.

It’s not his fault Bruce is a cheater.

Y’all need to stop with the unnecessary Barnes hate.

He's a one and done, but it would have been nice to have him in Orange and White.

I meant out of high school... Grant Williams became elite, but he was not highly touted in high school.
You mean elite per the recruiting services compared to elite per CRB’s evaluation. Both of these hit some and miss some. Predicting the future is an unexact science

Honest question...why should anyone care as long as they are elite in college playing for UT?

Ultimately I agree, but when you need (or think you need) immediate help elite recruits are the recruits that give you instant hope. Fulkerson went through 2-3 seasons of people questioning his abilities before his breakout year. You can't always wait. It will all work itself out, I have no doubt.
Who were you more excited about committing to Tennessee, Jordan Bone or Kennedy Chandler? Bone was great for Tennessee, but it took a couple seasons for him to reach that level of play. With the "elite" recruits you're hopefully eliminating those first couple of adjustment years.
But just because you are highly rated like Renaldo Woolridge, Kenny Hall, DJ Burns Jordan McRae etc, it doesn't mean you will come in and have a major impact immediately. - All 4 stars, but not necessarily elite.

Are we in a position where we need immediate help in the post? How has our post play been compared to other teams under CRB?

Landing elite players is an obvious recruiting formula...I'm just glad we have a coach who can look beyond star rankings to make his own judgments and successfully find the players who will excel under him and deliver wins. IMO, CRB is about the best there is currently in college basketball at evaluating both the talent and the fit of recruits.
