Based on him being in our directory, with the timing of it all, that means it is pretty much official, correct?

Based on the intel and directory, you’d have to think it’s done, but I’ll wait for the announcement and let the kid have his day

Here’s a fun deadline story. Student finished his PhD dissertation (> 200 pages) after 6 years, which was due on a Friday at 5pm. He shows up before 5:05, door is locked. He bangs on the door and can hear people still in the room but no answer. He had to stick around for another semester and pay fees just to walk down there again and turn in the same document.
Hopefully lesson learned.

Tyler Ullis & Kay Felder are 2 guys who measured 5’9” that not only had great college careers but were picked in the NBA Draft…Ullis was 5’9” 149lbs, Zeigler is listed at 5’10” 170lbs.

Is ZZZ red shirting? Things are getting a bit crowded with quality options

Since he is reclassifying maybe he would consider the five year plan. If not get some minutes this year at the point, especially in press breaking situations and when we encounter quick PG on the other side of the court and be ready to replace Chandler's minutes next year. He can add to the fast transition we already have with some of our athletic guys at each position. You can bet Barnes has a plan that ZZZ has bought into.

Quicker and smaller guards always seemed to give us fits.

Should fit in quite well in Barne’s system.

In a situation like this, it is so nice when your team has a coaching staff that causes you to stroke your chin and ponder, "Hmmmm, I wonder what their thinking is on this?"

...instead of "What the [blank] are they thinking?!!!"

Their thinking was that this kid blew up this summer and would continue to rise so they would rather just take him now instead of fending off bigger programs next year for his services. Plus you get him in your system a year sooner, in the college weight program a year sooner, etc.

He most likely redshirts this year.

Working on some extra credit, I see Jalen Duren in the Memphis directory, but not Emoni Bates as of yet (their registration deadline is tomorrow). Will keep an eye on it.

Memphis radio says that he has been given a U of M email address. I think it's all but official.

Can't wait for Penny to miss the NCAA Tournament with two Top 5 picks!
Given the talent Penny will have and the assistant coaches he brought in, I expect them to do well. Not competing for a title good but ranked inside top twenty most of the year. Maybe a top 12- 15 team. I want to kill Memphis when we play them but otherwise hope they have a good season. Think about the excitement we had when number two Tennessee beat number 1 Memphis. I want more of that type excitement when the teams meet.

No thanks. I hope Memphis loses every game they play.

After Penny’s balled up fists comments, I wouldn’t schedule them again. Reserve those OOC games for programs that don’t cry to the media after their loses.
