‘22 FL SF Dillon Mitchell

Texas? Has he even visited there?

My guess (albeit not knowing the Texas connection) is FSU, Tennessee, and tOSU if it is indeed 3 schools. If not, I’ll say FSU, Tennessee, and Pro.
Sorry thought this had been shared…

Some new activity brewing with Dillon Mitchell. According to a source he is going to put out a top-3 soon of FSU, Tennessee and Texas.

I spoke with a source in Ohio and he confirmed that Ohio State is definitely out. That source also said he is hearing Florida State will be the choice.

According to another source Mitchell's recruitment is 'all over the place.' I think this source is exaggerating a little bit.

I've been told that Mitchell isn't talking to anybody (meaning schools). I've also been told that the only school in contact with Mitchell is FSU and that Texas and Tennessee talk with his coaches. This is why I think that one source is exaggerating a little bit with his comment that the recruitment is all over the place.

Lately the buzz was that Mitchell was going to announce on his birthday, which is Oct. 3. Now the speculation is that on Oct. 3 he will release a top-3.

Texas is a new entrant into this derby and I've heard different things on how they got involved, but I'm not going to get into that.

The longer Mitchell's recruitment goes on the better for Tennessee.

I don't think OSU will be in it due to the fact they are about to pick up Brice Sensbaugh

edit: got bto'd

FSU is the only school in direct contact with him? That seems like a terrible sign for us
That info contradicts itself multiple times, a month ago Russ Wood said Tennessee wasn’t a factor at all, so for to now mention Tennessee is a big change.

Yeah, doesn't sound great for our chances. Like I said in the Phillips thread, though, a quick commitment to FSU could work in our favor as it relates to Phillips.

I thought the same thing...lol. He talks about the lack of credibility of the source saying the recruitment is all over the place, and then proceeds to describe and discuss a recruitment that indeed seems to be all over the place.

Also states that Mitchell isn’t talking to anyone, then says he’s also heard Mitchell only talks to FSU…yet VQ was saying that Mitchell FaceTimed with Durant…not that that’s Tennessee but I’m pretty sure Tennessee was at the very least in contact with Mitchell to set that up.

Somehow we went from not a factor at all to being in his top three despite not being in direct contact? 😵‍💫

Mitchell on Tennessee
“I like Tennessee a lot,” Mitchell said. “Rick Barnes’ name says it all. He’s the man. He definitely has a plan for me as far as developing and helping me get to where I wanna go and chase my dreams. Really their whole coaching staff has a plan for me and that’s another thing I’m looking at. Just having a plan for me to not just push me to the side if something goes wrong, and to help keep working with me. When I went on my visit, one thing I definitely noticed about Tennessee was how hard they really be in the gym. Like a lot of coaches say ‘oh we really be in the gym all day’ but on my visit to Tennessee they actually really showed that. Like some of my visits, we were chilling in the coach’s office and stuff like that. But at Tennessee I didn’t even see an office building because they’re just in the gym all day. I remember after a practice, Coach Barnes and Brandon Huntley-Hatfieldwere still in the gym even an hour after practice. And then after that, Coach Barnes was in the film room with Brandon just helping him, and looking at film of him playing and seeing how they could help develop him. So it really just showed how much the coaches really care about helping the players. So that was a great thing to see. And just the culture there, and the love I get from the fans on social media and stuff like that. It’s been great so I’m excited to see where that can go.”

Like @cncchris33 was talking about earlier, a quick commitment to Florida state would help with Phillips if he is indeed going to Florida state anyways. However, I definitely wouldn't mind a quick commitment to us lol. I just dont want to drag this one out with us in the top 3 and then not land him or phillips
Also USC already has 2 top 40 bigs committed

They've made an Elite 8 in 2018 and got to the Sweet 16 in all the other NCAATs since then. They've had 7 NBA Draft picks in the last 3 drafts, including 4 1st rounders and 3 of those are lottery picks.
Would've likely made the Final Four with a legit chance to win it all during covid year too. Also doesn't hurt to be in Florida where IMG and Montverde are

Sounds like he really likes Tennessee. Would love to get him. If I had to pick one out of the three I’m probably going Wallace but Mitchell isn’t far behind.
There’s a really interesting discussion/debate that can be had, if I told you you can only pick 1…

-Cason Wallace one and done
-Julian Phillips two and done
-Dillon Mitchell three and done
-Chandler Jackson graduation

I can legitimately make a case for each of those.
