He’s not going to join the Harlem Globetrotters but he does lead the team in assists/minute. He also doesn’t have a bad assist/TO ratio. And he can play facing the basket. He’s a wing right now, the most loaded position. 3 ahead of him will be long gone by the time he’s a senior. I think it’s small minded to throw in the towel with him. As I said earlier... he has 3 more years left. If he can add weight he’ll be able to play as a 5. He could solidly fill spots 2-5. But I guess Barnes doesn’t have a clue. Am I doing it right?

There is no way Pember can play the 2 or 3 because he would get destroyed trying to guard those positions. Putting him out there means he would have to guard someone like Springer or Keon, which would be a massacre. He just doesn't have the athletic ability to play the 2 or 3. I don't ever see him putting enough weight on or being physical enough to play the 5 either.

Pember is a stretch 4 and that's really it. I don't ever see him being a really great defender either, so his offense is going to have carry him. The problem there is Barnes cares more about your defense.

Anosike doesn’t count against scholarships and players with Plavsic’s height are not at all common. Actually Pember’s as well... especially with his perimeter skill set.

And that height is doing nothing on the bench, and there is little reason to think it's going to get any better.

We really don’t need to pay Barnes $5 million/year when there are so many great basketball minds in here tgat know more than him and are in the neighborhood of $10/hour.

No one on here is questioning Barnes. None. You just don’t like that others are saying Pember has more than likely hit his ceiling at TN. The decision to bring Pember in was fine at the time. A bit questionable but we all knew he was a project that long term hopefully we work out.

So far, it’s not been a success, and with so many minutes in the post at the 4 and 5 up for grabs the fact Pember hasn’t cracked the lineup yet says a lot.

He was playing non-mop up minutes just a game or 2 ago.

No one is questioning Barnes? I question that comment.

Pember is 1st in assists, 2nd in steals, and 3rd in blocks per minute. The assists stat suggests that he can handle the ball, contrary to the board monitor is implying.

Knocks down 3s and handles the ball very well for somebody close to 7’ tall. You’ve not seen him in games long enough to break a sweat.

What's next, you brag about someone's stats in an exhibition game? How about telling us how great he is in practice?

I’m fine, I don’t need money. But thanks for the offer. I don’t even know if what you’re suggesting is legal.

Nobody knows what recruiting will look like 1 and 2 cycles from now or even how the current one wraps up. I think that it is a very good idea to have veterans on future rosters instead of running them all off for not being one-and-dones and other transient players.

Sure if they are good.

I’m not even suggesting running off Pember. Not all 13 scholarship guys are gonna play. What is being argued is his talent, which you’re arguing for and we are arguing against.

That assist number TGO dropped on us, he had 3 assists against #314 kenpom ranked Tennessee Tech. You’ll have to forgive us for not wanting him to be the PG with that amazing ast/min stat

Doesn’t have a thing to do with being a PG. You questioned whether he can handle the ball.

I like Pember and he’s a great kid, but this is unfortunately true. Kid wants to play the perimeter but can’t guard anyone.
