‘22 TN C Handje Tamba

It wasn’t bragging about stats. It was showing the board mod that he’s a competent ball handler for a near 7 footer.

Uh huh. Yeah. You’re gonna have to forgive me that I’m not buying that assertion because of three assists against the #314 team in the country.

Sure if they are good.

I’m not even suggesting running off Pember. Not all 13 scholarship guys are gonna play. What is being argued is his talent, which you’re arguing for and we are arguing against.

He was one of the best players, if not the best, on a state champion team.

The original post that I replied to was about running off Anosike, Pember, and Plavsic.

Honest question how many guys who have played 2.5% of minutes available in their sophomore year ended up being good at UT?

Who cares about East TN basketball? I went to Farragut and Bearden is a good East TN basketball team but rarely does that translate to Division 1 success for their players. The talent in this state is on average not good. You have a few elite Memphis players every now and then but that’s it. Winning a state title here is meaningless.

I didn’t realize that East Tennessee is a state. When did that happen?

He was never expected to be a freshman phenomenon. He’s always been a take as a project.

Sure and if he was getting ORN minutes I could see your point but he can’t. I’m sure Barnes wishes he could find an 8th to give a spark.

My god you purposely act obtuse. I didn’t refer to East TN as a state. I referenced Memphis in my post as well. You are beyond help if you think high school basketball in Tennessee is anything but mediocre. Just because a James Wisemen occasionally moves to Memphis for a year doesn’t mean our basketball is good.

We really haven’t seen Pember play enough minutes to decide whether or not he could become a great player.

I don’t doubt his basketball skills are there but physically, he’s not able to handle bigger and stronger post players.

He seems to be a decent shooter with good passing skills. Just needs to get stronger.

List of players since 2002 at UT that played less than 5% of minutes available (non walk ons)

Boomer Herndon
Pops Ndiaye
Quentin Cheivous
D’Montre Edwards
Dom Woodson
Jabari McGhee
Jalen Johnson

A) Yes I have

B) He doesn’t play for a reason, because he isn’t good, let alone great

He’s a project.

Sometimes it takes certain players longer to develop.

I’m not saying he’s a great player but we can’t completely write him off yet.

Jalen is contributing at Wake this year.

I’d love to have Jabari’s rebounding on this TN team. Pops could probably help out in the paint as well. Boomer would keep shot clock repairmen employed.

Most of them have something in common....

Quez Glover carried that Bearden team to a state championship, Pember was hurt half the year. Yeah, Pember played well in the playoffs but that was Quez's team
