“We are a National Championship Contender”-Rick Barnes

Like the thought, just don’t see it. Too likely that this team can just go ice cold shooting on a basketball court not in Knoxville, TN.

Or not get enough points in the paint. But this team is talented enough to beat just about anyone on a good day. I’m hoping they can string together some of their best basketball yet in March.

When the defense is on their A game, we’ve got a great shot at winning as long as we can be average or better on the offensive side.

If I remember correctly, at one point we had four 5* players and Vescovi on the floor at same time. If not, we very well could have it next season

KC
JJJ
Aidoo
BHH
Vescovi

I’ll be stunned if Chandler returns for a second year.

Look forward to how you guys respond when this team bows out of the tournament against a lower seed and not advance beyond the Sweet Sixteen (or worse). It’s Barnes MO.

I’d love him to prove me wrong but he won’t.

Advancing to the Sweet 16 means only 8 teams out of 350 went further. Barnes has done it 3x. Repeating the idiotic Basilio talking points is stupid.

Games that affect us ... loosely speaking ... Florida at Vanderbilt (tonight). Vanderbilt is trying to claw out of the basement 4. This would change who we would get in the first round if VY wins.
Getting that 6th seed is going to be huge ... So .. expect LSU and Miss St to be bringing their A game on Wednesday. The results of the FL @ VY game will inspire them no matter what the outcome is ...
LSU on the road at Arky ... I am expecting Arky to win.
Auburn on the road at Miss St ... this one will go down to the wire. Auburn needs to get it right, but we gave Miss St a template to work off of ... that actually worked. Toss up! I will be pulling for MS, but I think it will be Auburn with the win.

If the NCAAT was in Thompson-Boling we'd be favored to win it all.

Unfortunately we will have to shoot the ball outside of Thompson-Boling after Saturday.

I see this as a Sweet 16 if we get favorable match-ups, i.e. teams that aren't defensive minded.

4-2 in the last 6 at opponents gyms. Plus TN has 4 true freshmen regulars getting a lot of minutes and they are growing up fast.

Other than Duke and UNC, nobody really has home games in the NCAAT.

So can we count on you leaving the BB forum if we advance beyond the sweet 16? Put some skin behind your insults

I think we get to the sweet 16 this year. Hope we have a favorable matchup for that game.

All good points. However, my fear with this team all season is that we don’t have someone who can manufacture offense. Chandler maybe the closest if he drives more but even then his FTs are suspect.

Praying for a run, I love this team despite its flaws.

Sadly I have to agree.

Hopefully the trend ends this yr, especially since this is the best roster Barnes has had at UT.
