⚽️Lady Vols Soccer Thread

Marcano is a good athlete and player. I got very annoyed at Pensky for not playing her more when she was a freshman, which I think
was a major mistake. Had an excellent senior season playing forward on same team with Cousins and Shaw. More suited to playing attacking mid than forward. Happy she's having some success as a pro.

Maybe the SEC network will use one of their channels to broadcast some of the non-revenue producing sports for a change. Nah. I am afraid that will not happen.

It does now. Between ESPN broadcast and league broadcasts, you can watch a ton of non-revenue sports. In fact, I guess because I get the SEC and ACC network on my cable system and subscribe to ESPN+ (now $10 a month--started at $5), almost every Tennessee soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball game is streamed and can be watched online--along with all the other conference games. There are some nights when I switch around and check out four different SEC soccer matches going on --it's great. If I miss the games, I watch the replays, which ESPN stores for...I'm not sure how long, but close to a week, I think. (I don't think I've ever checked to see how far back it's replays go.) All the ACC games are on as well, as I think too Big10.

Yeah it's not like they're a sporting network that could cover more live games instead of having so many talk shows that all talk about the same current news items over and over. It's like MTV used to be about music videos and play music all day, now it's crap and reality shows. There's my vent for the day.

AT&T/ESPN is always inventing new ways of getting into viewer's pockets. The SEC network was sold as a multiple channel network which would expand coverage of almost al SEC sports. They have reduced the number of channels form 4 to 2 and the second channel is rarely used. It is almost void of regular scheduled SEC sporting events and recently only used when one of their sporting events on the first channel has an overtime game. We have been sold a bill of goods and they are trying to sell us even more venues when they could/should be using their other SEC channel.

Is the pic with all side by side just matching #s or couples. I know Vescovi and Maria (Sorry if spelled names wrong) are a couple but not sure about rest?

I believe you are correct on Vescovi and Nelson, on the others have no idea. Wonder what the turn out was like yesterday. Imagine a lot of other area teams came to watch.

‘For example 👇

I believe the purpose of the SEC alternative channel is to listen to the ‘SEC ESPN Theme Song’ on a loop.

If you aren’t familiar with The Scruffs, they are a supporters group for the professional soccer team ‘One Knoxville SC’.

They posted this for the Exhibition match against Dayton on Saturday. Admission to the match is free by the way.

The Vol soccer team has had its own school supporter's group the last few years--but the name escapes me and I'm not sure
if it's still around. But another one always welcome.

Big surprise to see UNC only 3rd.

Even a bigger surprise to see national preseason #1 and defending National Champions FSU at preseason #4 in the ACC41B6ED13-D727-4270-A53D-77D84DCD1128.png

Ha, ha: I guess I got my karmic comeuppance from the UTAD and the Soccer program with the new uniforms. Perhaps I deserve it! Just as I renew my complaints about the old LV name and logo, they double down with the thing! I don't know whether to laugh or cry--I'm laughing, mostly.

Has any women's team at UT used this "Summitt blue" color in a uniform before? I don't think so, so it's a little odd that the soccer team--as opposed to women's basketball team, say--would be the first. Is this a Summitt anniversary year of some kind? I wonder why they've chosen now for a legacy uniform. I've never understood why the UTAD opted to go with a touch of baby-blue hue in the original LV logo, to begin with. The University of North Carolina. for which baby (Carolina) blue has always been one of its two school colors, actually moved to a darker hue in 2015 as some in the athletic department thought the original baby blue was too soft.

The blue shade in the pictures here looks better to me than in the video, because it looks a little darker. Darker shade would be miles better than a light shade of baby blue. The orange stripes and numbers look good with it. If the new unis motivate the team to play well, I'm all for it. This actually now gives us four uniform tops: White, Checkerboard, Orange and this blue.

All your comments about loving the Lady Vols logo has really paid off.
