I am totally at a loss to explain the need all fan bases now have to claim their teams aren't receiving their due respect.(jakez4ut @ Jun 22 said:agreed...we'll be young next year, and we'll lose some games that will suck, but i'd bet we'll win some that we probably aren't supposed to either....i'm just glad at this point to even be in the discussion about the Tourney in June, 5 months before the season even starts......
remember last year in the preseason? NIT...hopefully....how soon we all forget...we'll be fine....especially in 07-08 i believe...
Exactly where did I say they were proven? I simply pointed out that all three of those guys are true points, not guys who will be learning the position at the major college level.(hvwarrior58 @ Jun 22 said:Well lets see hat. Wiggins has no more experience then Tabb, Johnson or Smith since they are all incoming freshmen. Price didn't play at all last year so how can you give him the nod over any of ours? Here is Austrie's line:
GP-GS=34-24 MPG=16.5 FGM-FGA=32-88 FG%=.364
3M-3A=10-33 3%=.303 FTM-FTA=37-47 FT%=.787 RPG=1.6
As=87 TOs=35 Bs=5 STLs=14 PPG=3.3
So their "proven" PG shot 36% and averaged 3.3 and 1.6. I can understand how that justifies UCONN being 4 seeds higher.
Any recruiting analyst who listed Doug Wiggins or AJ Price as anything but a point guard needs to actually get out and go to games during the summer.(hvwarrior58 @ Jun 22 said:Well, at least 2 were listed as SGs coming out of HS, so there are questions as to are they "true" points. You didn't say that any of them were "proven" but you did say we don't have any "established" PGs and that is your excuse. I don't see how Johnson, Tabb, Smith, or Howell need to learn the position since they all played PG in HS/AAU. They may have to learn some of the finer points to the position, but so will the 3 UCONN PGs.
